I think it would be important to mention the changes in allowing organ transplants....and I know it is well known here, but the hypocrisy of allowing blood fractions which come from donated/stored blood in the blood bank, but not allowing one to donate or store blood.

Well why should he worry about the surgery.....the end is so near and brother Prince will be restored to perfect health.......
This will be very cruel sounding, but a surgical problem where Prince needs blood and either takes it or does not take it and happens to have complications or passes would create an amazing buzz.....

The young ones are leaving in droves!!!
by 1914BS ini hear that many congos are loosing all their young dubs and now only very old dubs are left.
it seems the jws religion is dying out because there are no youngins to replace the aging ms/elder/cos .
the young dubs are very internet savy and would rather play warcraft than go out in the field circus.. i remember a wt study article a couple of years ago that was entitled" when a young person rebels" or something like that - anyone know that mag?.

Come Be My Follower - my wife is making the son read this with her
by insearchoftruth inmy wife has gotten another renewed zeal for the wts, well due to his own misbehaving (and i am sure conversations with the dubs on how to get him better) she has decided to make him read come be my follower.. am pretty sure i have a pdf of this..... my stepson is pretty good at thinking for himself and i have already shown him stuff on 1975 and other questionable teachings, last night when she finished reading chapter one with him, he stepped out of the room, looked at me and said "that was hell".. anyone here have any thoughts on this book, i think she is going to read it with him (and he is almost 16) so i would like to provide him a leading question or two, maybe this can cause her to think as well.. thanks,.

Money and the BORG...
by cognac init seems to me that most of the borgs growth now is from 3rd world countries and from uneducated, poorer people.
i don't believe this was the case years ago.
and, there are a lot in that are stuck in.

it is religion that only takes and doesn't give,,other religions in third-world countries often create schools and hospital clinics but JWs won't do that (won't even encourage its youth to go to college even to become teachers, doctors, nurses).
If they are to survive, they are going to have to learn to provide things to society rather than Watchtowers, Awakes and other 'bible based publications'.......Jesus spoke of feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, why can't they emulate this 'greatest man who ever lived'.
Jesus did not walk around in a suit, he did not care how the folks he associated with dressed, why does the organization who is just like the early church care about these things.
I am not an expert at anything considered JW, but the moves they are making lately are all about money, paperback books, shortening of meeting times (the KH does not need to be open and heated as much), selling buildings in Brooklyn and moving to upstate NY, laying off of Bethelites, moving printing operations for some things to Canada and other European countries.
I would not be surprised to see the JW only publications available for printing online (heck, this site already has a lot of them available in pdf), this would reduce the printing burden and a pretty significant cost. They will need to provide greater pressure on the rank and file to donate to the 'worldwide work', but they need a disaster to help. The sister my wife is studying with is using the issue where more and more states are approving gay marriage or civil unions as a rallying cry because she knows my wife's stance on homosexuality....

At age 16, going through all that those years entail, my wife also tried that crap with our son thinking that if she shoved WT material down his throat by making him read books an answer questions to her satisfaction that he'd do better. It was making them both miserable.
I am pretty sure that this is what is going to happen with what is going on, he is already complaining.
While the dynamics of your situation differ in that he's a "stepson", I'd probably suggest that you ensure that you're available as a sounding board for his frustrations as there will be many to come.
I am trying to be the sounding board......he really does not know what he believes, but he has no interest or respect towards the WTS and really just views them as a 'strange organization'. His memories of past WTS stuff is boredom at meetings when his mom made him go, attending assemblies with his uncle (who is his age) and running around and trying to avoid any of the event. When he sees them go door to door he thinks it makes no sense, and my concern is she will use this, thinking it is going to help, and drive a wedge between the two of them....
