I would agree the GB and the WTS are acting in survival mode, what needs to be done to continue to be an ongoing concern.

The WT as a bureacracy
by jgnat inhere's a quote from a health care change agent, which i think suits the wts very well.. no matter how innovative or entrepreneurial a firm might have been at its start, once it is has been in existence for some time and has an established place in the social economy, its goal in life is to persist.
it leaves the world of innovation, often loses its purpose, and exists solely to exist, i.e., to cover its costs.
often this is a reflection of the corporate hierarchy, where, sadly, leaders lose their sense of providing true value to their customers, intent instead on aggrandizing their own position and preserving their status.

When dealing with my wife and her witness friends I keep thinking 'you can tell a JW but you can't tell them much'.

Contributions or Donations!
by Atlantis insome of the friends here have expressed the desire to send a contribution or donation after they have received a document from us.
while we really appreciate your kindness, we prefer that you send a gift to simon to maintain this board, or to barbara anderson.
we don't take donations or contributions.. every file we have is free, and we have never had a website to maintain.

Consider the "outcome" when elders apply the two-witness "rule"
by AndersonsInfo injehovahs witnesses two-witness rule is applied by elders when a witness member accuses another member of a sin, even if that sin is a criminal act.
if there arent two witnesses to the accusation, it goes nowhere, including not being reported to the authorities.
and in the case of an allegation of child abuse, the accused is free to molest again.. watchtower attorney, jim mccabe, recently stated this about jehovahs witnesses two-witness rule which he described as a bible-based belief :.

This is utterly disgusting, why it is not more broadly known is a travesty, guess it speaks to really how irrelavant the JWs really are, which does not make it any better for each of the victims.

A quick peek at the most embarrassing facts gleaned from PYRAMIDOLOGY and " Jehovah's Witness"
by Terry inmeasuring the great pyramid of egypt reveals exact prophetic dates.. _______________.
that was the crackpot theory of so-called pyramidologists.. among the men who promoted this silly idea was the founder of the watchtower publishing corporation, pastor c.t.russell.. he did not originate pyramidology, but he copied the work of the astronomer royal of scotland, professor charles piazzi smyth.
as well as another fellow named john taylor (the great pyramid (1859) and built a grand bit of humbug theology.

Trained to Exploit Emotionally Vulnerable People?
by dontplaceliterature ini don't post here much anymore, but i am working on a project with a few academics from my area who are in the psychology field.
we are looking for printed evidence in their literature that jehovah's witnesses train their publishers/pioneers to target people who are suceptible to being recruited - i.e.
people who have experienced a loss, or who are emotionally vulnerable.

Would some of this be in either the elders books or the Theocratic Ministry School book?

Not sure if in literature or not, but that is how my wife's family got sucked in many years ago, they left a great life in another country and found themselves deposited in the US with essentially nothing.
