i had drinks with a friend of mine who is still active in the "lie".. i asked him point blank if he still believes that the "end" will come in his life time.
he grew up as a dub and is in his early 40's.

Yep I do- My (ex) best friend follows NOTHING the WTS says and lives a lie or as the wts would call it a 'double life' yet she now refuses to talk to me or be seen with me...because its been rumored that I am an apostate. oh and I also suggested that she check into her religion to see if it was 'the truth' and that coc was a fine book to get started. Yep she leads a worse life then me but I am the bad one...

And the other nights I spend time with my husband or family just relaxing or doing something fun. I once read "Its better to be fishing on the lake thinking about God. Then sitting in church thinking about fishing" I agree!

I am not that versed in the law...so, I have no comment on the Sabbath. However I do know that most people on here do indeed love God (and even if they no longer do believe in God). Try to lead good and upright lives. Most of us (well me anyway) No longer try to push our beliefs onto other people. There was a quote once that said." Stand up for what you believe but don't believe its the whole truth or the only truth". Call, me crazy but I do believe that God loves all people even if we don't follow certain traditions or religious ways.
hello everyone, i am new to this forum, a 38 year old x jw, raised in and i and left it as a teen.
i want to start a new way to celebrate the 'memorial'- by donating blood.
this year the jws will celebrate the memorial on april 12, and i paln to mark the day by donating a pint of whole blood to my local blood bank.

my husband and i have not been to meetings for several years now.
we have finally had our first child after 13 years of marriage.
he is now 5 months old.

I don't know if these were rules in other halls but they were here
1. No opened toed shoes
2.No toe rings
3. Only one piercing in each ear and no other piercings allowed
4. No dresses that showed off your shoulders (ya cause shoulders are sooo hot) or showed your bra strap
5.No guys are allowed to highlight their hair and it was once told to me by a pioneer sister girls shouldn't either.

So, the other day I heard for the first time in my life that our best friend in the whole world 'elder' dad was accused of molestation to a young girl in the cong. I was floored and SHOCKED considering we spent a heck of alot of our youth and teenage years and her house with her dad present. I was sick that the cong covered it over and that he is still an elder today. So, I decided to call my sister and tell her and kinda go into about how the org does this to alot of cases. Of course she had the 'ya right' in her voice. So, I told her I could verify the story since our own dad was one of the elders that talked to the girl. I told her that this happens all the time yada yadda and she said well is this the policy that the society has?? (yes) Then she said well I 've never seen it written. And I am sure that it's just 'bible studies' that are doing this molesting. Oh my word I kinda lost it...and asked her where her heart was for these children. Anyway the moral of my story is I am so fed up with the org and their mind control tatics. They make peoples hearts into stone and their brains in to mush. And I am truly sorry to anyones story that I refused to believe when I was a witness. And I hope that your life is blessed now and that you have come to know the real truth and have been able to move on with your life.

a lady i know was telling me that she studied for 10 years and was considered an upbaptized publisher before being baptized.. is that possible, i didnt think and organization such as the jw's would let you just soak up all their "knowledge" without becoming one of the crew... :)
although havent been on here in a while since i had my son, i came on here asking for advice because i was having trouble dealing with the fact my husband was thinking about going back to the dubs, and he still hasnt gone back..yayayayayay... and im soooo happy, he still has most of their beliefs , but thats okay, they arent 100% bad, they helped him change his life..but i dont bother him cuz i dont want him runnin back!!!
Blondie pretty much hit it on the head...but,also you can now go out in field service and report your time. It's a big deal for younger ones or 'bible studies' to become one. Cause everyone then knows they're making such fine progress in the 'truth'.
