I think it is good....and bad. I don't think people should be thrown out of their church because some guy says God doesn't want or love you anymore. I know that all people make mistakes and I would not be one to judge another human being. On the other hand I think it is a good idea because hopefully when a person is excommunicated maybe that person will realize that they can have a relationship with God without being tied to a religion or church.

Excommunication is good!!!!
by I-follow-the-narrow-path inwhile talking to my teacher today we talked about excommunication.
i told her i thought it was mean to not talk to those members which have been excommunicated.
she told me; however, that those who leave the church should be punished.

Is this the ultimate question to ask a JW?
by jwfacts inpeople always ask what subject they should raise with their jw relatives.
the problem is, what is important to you is often of no consequence to me.
no one knows what will be the issue to change a relatives mind.

No logical questions or proven facts have helped my sister to see. She has only drawn further away from her whole family. She says she doesn't have to prove thats she is right to us and all the other usaul robotic answers. I don't know if their is anything at all that will ever help some people get out.

I found this and am in total agreement. Feel free to answer the Questions.
by jw inregardless of how you feel about jehovah's organization--the true religion, one thing for sure, you will not escape the almighty jehovah's judgement right along with satan the devil and his destructive organization.
how will you save yourself and those who follow you...?
it's ashame that your energies could not be put to a more positive use.

"No fear" t shirts, forbidden???
by free2beme inin the 1990's there were a lot of things that had the saying "no fear" on it and one of the local elders figured out that this meant we live life and do things without fear.
so that basically we could try things and take chances, without the normal fear we associate with things in life.
well in a special needs talk they decided that "no fear" t shirts should not be worn by good witnesses and they asked that we not wear them to witness gatherings, or even in life.

I remember!! There was a talk in our cong about the 'no fear' shirts to...there might of been one at the assembly to if I recall. When I met my husband at a local bar he was wearing a shirt that said 'no fear'
I was thinking he was really hot...but kinda afraid that he was 'bad' because of his 'no fear' shirt. Oh my word I was SO brainwashed

SSSHHH! I was usaully a good witness girl ;) But the topic made me remember a fun time. One assembly a friend and I went to a few bars with a couple guys from the area kingdom halls. There we met up with a few ex-witnesses (that I was 'afraid' to talk to) And I suggested that we go to a strip club..of course all the guys were up for it. It was a good time but I still don't like the 'witness' guys that we met up with...they were cocky jerks and creeped me out. I wonder if they are still witnesses?

What is your purpose in any of your posts?? Everyone brings up good points in your threads....but, somehow you think you are the only right person and all of us are wrong. In your posts all you do is prove how close minded JW's are and self-righteous. Are you here to fight with everyone just for the heck of it?? Because no one will go back to being a witness because of what you have to say...because its all bull crap. So, move on and bug someone else.

Welcome to the board!
Well, I am glad you are an educated person...Since you have been studying for 4 years something must be going on in your mind...since you have not become a babtised witness yet...but, trust me if you do EVERYTHING will change. They paint a pretty picture and promise you great things but you don't realize it was all just a lie untill it's too late...Why do you think there are so many witnessess all around the world?? and so many ex- witnessess? Type "what is a cult"in Google and you will see why this forum and many other sites and people call it that.

I realize people hear lack faith, Can't change them, but may this will help
by jw inthe apostle paul told the christians in the ancient city of philippi: "this is what i continue praying, that your love may abound yet more and more with accurate knowledge and full discernment.
philippians 1:9
similarly, accurate knowledge is needed for you to be motivated to believe in god.

OH GREAT IT'S YOU AGAIN!!!
Please if we wanted to hear crap like this we would go to a meeting...How rude of you to say that we lack faith. Do you know any of us? I didn't think so. How do you figure we lack faith then? Many have a more stronger faith then ever. But, what you have my friend is called... BLIND faith. Keep living in your watchtower lie. I don't care!! But go and associate with your other cult members and stop associating with us....didn't you learn BAD ASSOCIATION SPOILS USEFUL HABITS....How do you expect to be upbuilt here?

God led me to the JW congregation.
by jw ini rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.

You know there is not alot of difference between you and us. We were all honest hearted people trying to serve God and KNEW that the witnessess were the only way in which to do this. But, now here is the difference: We know the truth about the truth and we are not blind anymore. I would have died for this religion because of my belief in it. Now, my whole world has been turned upside down because I studied their own publications and found out the lies they were telling us. My suggestion to you is to do your own study of the watchtower publications and the bible and see where they differ. You can make your face like a wall or turn your heart off....but it is to God you will have to answer for that. Not us.

C.S.I. Bridesmaids
by Poztate ini was watching csi (crime scene investigation) with my wife last night.
the crime scene was at a wedding and a remark was made to the effect that the"historic" purpose of bridesmaids was to ward off evil spirits.
google turned up this comment amongst others.... choosing your bridesmaids.
