I am quite insane.
I am able to function only because of medication.
What has driven me insane?
Fear and doubt. Fear and doubt about myself. Somehow
this was instilled in me at a very young age and has
eaten away at my brain for 50 years.
Guilt. Guilt over deceiving my parents by telling them
that I actually believed what the JW's taught.
Loneliness. I cannot feel love. I just can't. I can
feel love for others, but I don't feel it back.

What do you think of todays youth?
by dawg inas many of you know, i live in a college town and therefore i'm around people much younger than me almost all day.
here's one thing i've noticed, the youth today have left the god of the bible behind.
they have been brought up in a world where information is available at a very rapid rate and have already figured out the biblical god is a fairy tale.

I am also around a number of younger people where I work
and in the board gaming group I am active in.
I agree that the Bible does not appear to influence their
life very much. I doubt that many of them have done much
Bible study or research.
However, there is a desire to be moral. I think kids still
have a sense of justice and fairness. They tend to have
small groups of friends with similar interests.
Younger people in general have had more patience with my
illness than those closer to my own age.
By politicizing the Bible the extreme right have made a
critical error. Now the youth associate religion closely
with politics or "the establishment", which in general
they do not trust. -

I pioneered for a little over for about 2 1/2 years on both sides of my short Bethel service.
I had 3 years total of full time service.
I hated going from door to door as did my pioneer partners. We had been working the same
territories since we were kids. We basically knew 1/2 the people in the neighborhoods
where we were calling. We would argue over who had to go to certain houses.
I did enjoy Bible Studies. I had studies with some very kind people who were in very
bad situations. I had a study with an 80 year old woman who I became close friends with.
She was very kind. Once she went to visit her sister and brought me back some well water
because I had told her how much I loved the taste of it. I got to enjoy that for
several weeks over the hot summer of 1980. I also studied with a man who had cerebral
palsy. It was very difficult. I studied with an elderly woman who was very relieved that
her husband was not in hell, because she didn't think he had led a very good life.
The list goes on. I had a lot of Bible studies in those 2 years. 3 of which got baptized
and 1 of whom is now studying with my father 20 years later. -

Disfellowshiping only began in 1952!! Before this Witnesses were immoral!
by Witness 007 inmany witnesses lived together in sin or had many wives before 1952 during the rutherford era, this was frowned apoun but no one was disfellowshiped unless they did something major like critisize rutherford!
then in watch.
may 15 1944 and finally watch 1/3 1952, disfellowshiping was invented.

The end of marriage?
by BurnTheShips infrom a piece in a london publication:.
the proportion of men and women getting married is below any level found since figures were first kept nearly 150 years ago.. and the number of weddings held in 2006 was the smallest since 1895, when the population was little more than half its present level.. the evidence that marriage is withering away at an increasing pace was met with a furious response from critics of labour's benefits system, which disregards the status of husbands and wives and pays parents extra to stay single.
the causes of the collapse of marriage range from the rise in the western world of a highly individualistic ethic, to a profound shift in moral and religious attitudes, to the sexual revolution, to the widespread use of abortion and the pill, to changes in law, among other things.

men can get sex without long term financial commitment. women do not need men's money to create a secure life for them and their children. thus. less marriage.

Repudiate "Valueless Things" 4/15/08 WT
by bud2114 inhot off the presses - just some of the latest garbage coming out of brooklyn as found in the 1st study article - repudiate "valueless things" (4/15/08 koolaid edition wt): .
par 17: another example of valueless words is found among the religious leaders of christendom.
these claim to speak in god's name, but most of their utterances are not based on the scriptures, and what they have to say is basically worthless.
-
joelbear69
their words are empty and meaningless silly really.

1. I think that it is logical for a person not to want to cease existing. Therefore religion gives that person a way to rationalize that they are not actually going to cease, but that death is simply a transport device. As far as I know, every religion transports you somewhere somehow at death. 2. When you think of how people are grouped (geographically, racially, by workplace, by income level, family, religion and by interest group) religion is one of the strongest binders because it has a list of requirements that people follow.
