How can our justice system have any respect, if they allow lawsuits like this. The basterd was a judge! It makes me sick. Thank God he lost! He should go to jail for contempt of court! Also for being a piece of shit that soaks up the tax dollars that we all spend on local and municipal governments.

Megadeth is a heavy metal band fronted by Dave Mustaine, who was raised as a Jehovah's Witness. Mustaine was the original lead guitar player for Metallica,in the early 80's, before they kicked him out for drunk behavior. I have been a fan of Megadeth for years, but recently found out he was raised as a JW. The lyrics from In My Darkest Hour, include something from his past. "Everlasting life for me, in a perfect world, but I gotta die first. Please God send me on my way."
I don't know why he felt he had to die first, but he certainly could have got the doctrine wrong. It is confusing.
Check out the Dave Mustaine story on Wikipedia. I don't have a link to the interviews specificly, but a Google search will bring up interviews with Dave speaking about his time in the JW's. And definately check out the new album, United Abominations. Then bang your head!!!

Sounds like it might kick ass, bigdreaux.
I live right next to the Ohio River, and I just might hop on a barge and take 'er to New Orleans. Big thumbs up to Rage Against The Machine.Gotta love Pocket Full of Shells. Anyone dig the new Megadeth album, United Abominations? Dave Mustaine speaks out on the war in Iraq and many other things, with headbangin solos and killer riffs. Did you know he was raised as a JW? It blew my mind, but it's true.
This could be a new thread. Just need to know if there are any Mega Fans out there.

Thanks for the link, yesidid. I remember now a talk I heard several years ago. The speaker said the other sheep should not feel left out because the annointed are the only ones part of the covenant with Christ as mediator. He then stressed the importance of the field ministry for us "sheep". I can't believe I forgot that, but your link jogged my memory.
I will be checking out your link jwfacts concerning the Holy Spirit. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the response to my posts JWfacts. And thanks for the welcome to this forum, Mum. I have been coming to freeminds for years now, but never posted in the forums.
I haven't found any qoutes from WT concerning Jesus as mediator for only the 144,000. It is possible I missed it. If you could point me to it, that would be great. Also, I have always been told by my parents to pray for holy spirit in times past. I would appreciate any references to what the society's literature says about that as well. But thanks for the excellent information in your document.
My Father was an Elder and Presiding Overseer for many years until I left home, and then he was removed for not being able to control his children, (Keep them in the Truth). My Mother has been pioneering for years. My Father is once again an Elder and PO in a different congregation. I have spent a lot of time over the years trying to explain why I do not want to be a JW again. Everything I tell them is shot down with the stock JW answer, and they warn me about apostate websites, and thats only when they want to talk to me.
I really liked what you wrote about Child bearing in the time of the end. My Mother brought that up on occasion when I was a child, as if my Sister and I were such a burden. We were accidents. I was told many times that if we had never been born they would have gone into the Missionary service. My younger sister ended up disfellowshipped at 18 years old. I was never baptised, and never recieved the shunning she did. Thing is, she was baptized at the age of 11. I left what I saw as a restrictive and abusive family at 16 and I then embarked on a self-destructive streak with alcohol and drugs, and ended up in jail for 2 months for drinking and driving. My parents and Grandfather moved 350 miles away while I was in Jail. 2 years later I moved as well to where they lived to be a JW again. It was my attempt to patch things up with my family. I ended up completely stumbled, as they say, by what I was hearing from the platform in this congregation. I also found the JW's there so hypocritical and selfrightous. So after 6 months, I left only to be blackballed once again. I must say, I have never seen a people that gossip like they do.
I could go on and on. Thanks for putting all of those real "truths" down in print jwfacts.

I should add to my above post that I am well aware of the false teachings over the years and many other things. I don't argue that. But I feel it is important to aproach an arguement with the facts BEFORE tearing apart your adversary. Otherwise you don't have a leg to stand on.
I did read the rest of your article. One thing that has been posted so many times is the arguement concerning the Witnesses always saying the end is just around the corner. Many other Christian Religions teach the same thing! Many religions are saying we are living in the time of the end. The J-Dubs might have been pushing longer, thats all.
They're guilty on the failed predictions part and medical issues, no doubt. Also shunning, but so is the Catholic Church. Excommunication. But J-Dubs took that to a higher level as well.
I'd say the Organization is just trying to be "all they can be" in a world full of other religions they feel are competing with them. They always try to take it to the next level. It's simple. I certainly would like to see the end of the Organization. They have torn my entire family apart.
This is all just constructive critisism.

I like the way you listed pro's and con's in your introduction, but I have one problem already.
Under the heading of Spirituality-Two Class System, you claim that "Followers do not recieve Holy Spirit" and "Followers do not have Jesus as mediator".
I was raised a JW, and left when I was 16. I am now 28, and I have never heard anything like that. The majority of my imediate family are JW's and I am sure you are way off on that one bud. They don't teach that at all. If the followers didn't believe Jesus was there personal mediator, then why are they encouraged to say "in Jesus's name, Amen" at the end of the prayer? And they all certainly believe they can recieve the Holy Spirit.
I doubt I will read more after this misrepresentation of their beliefs.
