In a nice , calm voice, inform your SIL that you will beat her ass to a stump if she dares to read that to your son. Also threaten her with legal action. She doesn't care about your son, she's f%#*!$g with you.

help! family mbr reading my 3 yr old My Book of Bible Stories
by limbogirl inmy soon to be three year old son asked me yesterday if i was dying.
i was shocked that he knew the word 'dying' and asked where he heard it.
he proceeded to tell me that his aunt (a jw) read him a story about jesus twiste (christ) and jesus was dying.

The need for educated proffesonals - more WT hypocrisy?
by jambon1 inone thing that always annoyed me when i was in the org was the policy on education.
i personaly am not college educated, i was`nt raised as a jw.
however, i have always appreciated the services provided by those who have had a college/university education.

I cannot understand why people like Dozi are even on this site?! You are, just by reading these comments associating yourself with "apostate" views. This is strictly forbidden by the WBTS, let alone commenting on topics yourself. So now that your one of us I will go on to say that the WBTS definately dicouraged myself and those I grew up with in regards to higher education. I had a near perfect grade in HS and could have picked any college in the state. No, dumb me listened to all the aforementioned rehtoric and happily waited for armegeddon. Anyone remember the talk ( Will You be Alive in 75?)? So Dozi you are wrong and there are thousands of us to bring to to task for your condensending view. I hope I haven't misspelled any words as I am a lowly bricklayer with a bad back and no new system to fix it. Join us or leave, don't lurk like a coward.

Have you seen any of the JW's elders that DF'd or DA'd you and or now DF'd?
by booker-t init is funny but i love that old expression "karma is the best payback".
i happened to see one of those super arognant elders that was the judicial committee that put me on "private reproof" years ago when i was a "devout" jw and fell into unscriptual conduct.
they literally had me trembling back there in the back of the kh wondering if i was going to be disfellowshipped or put on public reproof.

12 years ago today
by free2beme ini stood on that witness stage and got married.
the talk was long and boring, and meant to convert all of our non-witness relatives.
the music was pre picked to make sure it was clean enough for a witness gathering, and the drive to our honeymoon location was as fast as the car could go ... wonder why?

I am hurt, my wife had a miscarriage and still my family didn't contact me
by jwfacts intwo weeks ago my wife had a miscarriage at 11 weeks.
it is very sad as it was to be my first child and my wife is already 39. what hurt the most though is that none of my immediate family contacted me.
i was d/f in january and did not expect to hear regularly from my parents and sister.

I would go out alot in the winter because I was a bricklayer and was laid off due to weather. My buds and I would drive out and make some calls, drink coffee, and plan camping and fishing trips. When I had to go with people I didn't like or know it was awful. I guess it's one of the most miserable things a person can do. When I think back on it now I get a sick feeling and phisicaly shudder. I think it was a incredable waste of my time. I did manage to get a few "studies". One poor guy Gary got baptized and is still a jw. His girlfriend took off on him with his daughter, he had to quit a high paying tech job because they made defense stuff for the gov't. Basically I ruined his life. I still feel bad but he can leave and chooses not to. He looks sad every time I run across him.

Welcome, I'm new here and don't post much. Your story struck a nerve. Don't allow yourself to get bitter as it will just keep you from enjoying things you can now do anytime you please. I was so similar to you except no dad just a pushy mother. She meant well and I love her but I could never even concieve staying in that religion to please someone. I'm 50 yrs old and was a jdub till I was 38. Man did I make up for lost time like a bat out of hell. Still I was wise enough not to do anything really stupid. Get your degree and have some fun! My problem now is seeing my sisters kid 16 and full of life going down that same crappy path. I feel like kidnapping him. Man it is bugging the hell out of me. Here is this big, good looking , smart kid soon to be a man being told all the BS. Anyone have any Ideas?

That is a great song off a great CD. Neil Young has always been one of my very favorite singers even when I was still a jw. I always liked "One of these days" . It's an old one but I never get tired if hearing it.
