Wow, that is pretty deep. It's amazing how when you seperate yourself and open your mind how you see things differently, although I am sure that the elders would have some sort of rebuttal for this.

Ironic hypocrisy of Bethel "service"
by MinisterAmos ini normally let people make their own decisions with a very hands off approach, but after reading the "living together in bethel" (or whatever the name of the piece of crap book is) i need to vent a bit.. anyone here is very familiar with the "quit your job or at least cut way back" talks that we were subjected to seemingly every other week.
after all, good dubz need time to prepare, attend, pioneer etc.
a good friend of mine left her job at an insurance co. to pioneer.

Too bad church and State are sperate in these matters, can you imagine all the labor laws the org. is breaking?! It is truly sad to see all these people struggling. I know of a single sister in my old congregation who is struggling, she cleans houses for a living. I came across an apartment cleaning job that would have paid her $1000 a mont, and she could work it whenevr she wanted so she could still meet her "society requirments". I have a soft spot for struggling single parents, so I told her about it, but told her she needed to jump on it if she wanted it. I have worked with the manager of the complex for 2 years and have a really good reputation with her, she had the job all she had to do was show up and put in a bid. But, she drug her feet and had to "meet with the elders" for advice, and lost out on the job. A week later she went to Louisiana to rebuild houses for witnesses that were displaced and she is still there, working for free while she digs herself farther into debt.

As long as the answers are factual and the questions are honest, I definately think it helps those who are struggling to break free. It also helps those that have been DF'D to realize that there are others out there and they are not alone.

Isn't that riding on the politics of the world? I thought that witnesses weren't supposed to be involved in politics? I am not going to share my views on abortion, as everyone has an opinion, and I believe people have the right to believe in their own views. I think that was a very sad and touching writing but that just shows their hypocrasy in keeping seperate from the world. They should have have written the article solely based on scriptures and kept "worldly" passages out of it.

Congratulations on your new baby !!!! I agree with Blondie, just send the letters back unopened, just write "return to sender" on the outside of the envelope and after a while, hopefully she will stop.If she does stop by, invite her in, be nice to her, but also let her know that any talk about the org. is not up for discussion, if she starts talking , kindly ask her to leave. Kill em with kindness and success in your personal life. That, in my opinion, is always the best revenge.

I was home with my sick child and couldn't attend the meeting, so I decided to look up some things on the jehovah's witness site and somehow landed on silent lambs, it struck me like a lightening bolt, there was also a person in our congregation who was on the sex offender registry and I remember comment being made about him only a week before by my teacher in "the truth" because him and his wife had a daughter my daughter's age and was invited to stay the night, I of course said no. I remember my "teacher" assured me that this guy was in "clean standing" as no new charges had been brought against him since learning the truth. I still refused though, asking why their daughter couldn't just spend the night at my place, I got a lenghty explanation on how because I was a single mother at the time, that it would be a "healthy" situation for my daughter to see how a married family operates in the home. I told her the issue was no longer up for discussion and it was my daughter, my choice, and by no means was she going to go. At the next meeting I was able to attend they had a part on how they "keep Jehovahs organization clean", and based on the child molester and what I was going through at the time, I walked out and never went back. I stumbled on to JWD that next day and lurked for about a year, and now here I am...glad to be here, and glad to be free.

when i was in the watchtower lie, i always wondered why the dubs make such a distinction in their daily activities.
after i escaped and started making friends with worldlings who happened to be christians i learned that they make no distinctions between what they do as a profession and their witnessing about jesus to other people.

I never did understand why they even made an issue of it. I knew an elder who owned and worked his business that cleaned a strip club, and there were naked pics of girls plastered everywhere, but obviously this was no concern, but another couple I knew that had a cleaning business wouldn't clean a church. I would think church cleaning would've been better than the strip club thing....

Thank you all so much, the due date is November 19th. I have an 11 year old daughter and she is over the moon about being a big sister, she can't wait. November seems like a lifetime away, my fiance is on top of the world, we had been trying for a while with no success. Hopefully the pregnancy will go well. We have been looking at every website on the net about babies, it is soooo awesome!!!!
