The problem with these kind of articles is that following this logic , it also follows that God has designed all creation - including the really nasty ones. So did God design the covid 19 virus with its specially designed spike to allow it to attach onto human cells? Or the guinea worm that grows inside a human up to a metre and then agonisingly breaks out when a metre long to propagate itself?

The “simplified” congregation donation arrangement
by slimboyfat indid anyone else experience a nostalgic throwback to the 1990s when the latest watchtower announcements presented their demand for increased donations from congregations as a “simplified” arrangement?
5. adjustment to resolved congregation donations: in the past, the congregation was presented with multiple resolutions to donate funds to the branch office in support of vari- ous activities cared for by the organization.
this arrangement has been simplified.

I think the expression has its roots in the scripture "Keep your eye simple". In reality , it has become something of a corporate style buzzword.

What Is The Position Of Witnesses For People Who Are Inactive And Don’t Want To Be Bothered By Anyone?
by minimus ini used to have some close friends simply pay me a friendly visit or call to see how i was doing.. i am curious as to whether or not the society instructed witnesses to no longer check on inactive ones and treat them as marked or disfellowshipped..
-

I think the elders still are requested to contact all inactive ones in their area before Memorials. Whether they bother - I don't know. It depends on the bodies of elders - many are too busy / lazy to make much of an effort.
I left over 10 years ago - faded , not DFd - and I haven't been contacted by JWs since then , either door-to door or a "shepherding" request. The few JWs that I know still say hi if I see them around the town but the personnel in my old congregation has changed considerably since I left ( and reduced by about a third in attendance. )
I think probably the elders make a distinction , either consciously or sub-consciously between those who are "weak" ( those who perhaps still believe it is the truth & drift around on the very edge of the organisation ) and those who clearly have seen through the hypocrisy and have formally walked away.

Transparency in Field Service Hours
by Earnest ini notice that in the recent instructions for new regular pioneers (2020-08-s-236-e) it lists a number of assignments for which a pioneer can be credited (up to 75) hours in a month.. these include:construction oversight, assembly hall oversight, assembly oversight, and convention oversight, as well as serving as temporary volunteers at bethel, commuter bethelites, remote volunteers, bethel consultants, hospital liaison committee members, patient visitation group members, disaster relief committee members, local design/construction department field representatives and maintenance trainers, and so forth.
approved assignments also include assisting with kingdom hall construction when such is done at the request of the branch office or its representatives overseeing the project, assisting with pre and post-assembly or convention work, assisting with work at assembly halls, conducting or participating in congregation meetings held in prison, as well as attendance at a theocratic school or class .
when i was pioneering and doing pre and post-assembly work i was told i could include the time spent working in my monthly report, which i did.

The credits were a "godsend" to many pioneers , particularly those who always struggled to get their time in.
A relative of mine worked several days a week on a big Assembly Hall refurbishment for a couple of years and basically did hardly any ministry other than an occasional token hour on a Saturday morning , yet kept his pioneer status. When I asked him why he didn't just come off the pioneer list and go back on when the refurb had finished, he got quite agitated. The label of pioneer clearly meant a lot to him.

Some of the other religions did apologise - it isn't really a concern over a legal liability , it is more of a general attitude that they regard themselves as Jehovah's organisation so they regard themselves as ( effectively ) royalty so like the Queen they "never apologise , never explain".
My father used to be good friends with one of the London Bethel branch committee and he told me that the branch member said that the very guarded admission of a degree of culpability over 1975 issued in 1980 was about as close as you would ever get to an apology from the Society.

https://www.exmormon.org/ is another interesting site. Actually many of the experiences there are very similar to JWs. Its just another religion / MLM business ( with a compulsory 10% "tithe" ) with roots in 19th century America - albeit with some pretty crazy ideas. An ex-mormon once described it as like the "JW religion on magic mushrooms". Its probably a fair description.
Two of the Mormon missionaries , single guys in their early 20's from Utah , rented a room in a friend's home during their 2 year assignment to my town and I recall having a couple of interesting conversations with them. Whenever you took them out of their comfort zone ( for example , enquiring about why portions of the Book of Mormon are word for word copied from the King James Version despite allegedly being written hundreds of years previously ) they just got the rabbit in the headlights look and were totally disinterested , even to the point of hostility , in anything that caused any questioning of their faith and their religious leaders past and present.
I actually felt a bit sorry for the guys - they were anything but cheerful in their missionary work and I got the impression that it was something of a rite of passage and they were privately counting the days when they could go home to Utah , marry a pretty Mormon girl and have a family and a normal working life.

Latest awake on JW.org
by aboveusonlysky inthe latest awake (no 3 2020) on jw.org is just breathtaking, it's about prejudice and gives the following 3 examples which i will one by one attemp to debunk.. awake - some employers have mistakenly believed that women are unqualified for scientific or technical jobs.. erm... women are not only forbidden from elder or m/s appointment, they're not even considered qualified enough to adjust the height of a brother's microphone, you were saying?.....
awake - in medieval europe, jews were falsely accused of poisoning wells and spreading disease.
during nazi rule, jews were again slandered.

Good spot.
The comments about prejudice against Jews are somewhat ironic , considering Judge Rutherfords disastrous "Declaration of Facts" in 1933. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_of_Facts
It says , in part:
" It has been the commercial Jews of the British-American empire that have built up and carried on Big Business as a means of exploiting and oppressing the peoples of many nations. This fact particularly applies to the cities of London and New York, the stronghold of Big Business. This fact is so manifest in America that there is a proverb concerning the city of New York which says: 'The Jews own it, the Irish Catholics rule it, and the Americans pay the bills.' "

Jehovah's house for Sale?
by JohnTron72 inwhen i drive by the kingdom hall i grew up attending at but, was sold directly to a church, i get angry.
the elders who handled the sale didn't even remove the watchtower shaped bricks on each side of the sign near the street so, now they advertise for a baptist church.
how many times as i grew up i heard things like: you should not do work ( such as clean carpets for a church) you wouldn't want to work at a cigarette making plant or a facility that makes bombs for the military.
