  I am getting a tattoo on Friday!

  just thought i'd do something i always wanted too.

  mr c always said he's dump me if i had a tattoo, well we're not together anymore so i can and i am!

  richie or those in the know - how much pain can i expect to look forward to?.

  I'm 28 (happy birthday to me), and I got my first two tattoos six months ago. I'm finishing up my third tonight and I can't wait to get more.

  Yeah, and in five or ten years you may be wishing you had gotten a few more tattoos. You can play it safe your entire life and still have just as many regrets as living life a little dangerously.

  BTW, it took me months to decide on my tattoo designs, no spur of the moment tats on me.

  Have a blast Crumpet, grit your teeth and for god's sake hold still. I find that finding a spot to focus on the wall, ceiling, floor or whatever is visible from the contortionist position the artist asks you to stay in, helps with the pain.

  Again, empty seats. The congregation I attended met in a rented facility. This particular congregation has always had around 140 - 180 pubs. There were just over 200 in attendance. You would think there would be a lot more considering their precious little tract campaign.

  Oh, and there were 4 mormon elders there, name tags, black ties, white shirts and all, they had been invited that day and showed up. They even stuck around afterwards to gab it up with some JW elders.

  Anybody attended the Memorial last night? What was your experience?

  for the first time in a year i set foot on a kh.

  the memorial to me is still somewhat sacred so i decided to attend.

  i thought i would feel different, in the sense that maybe i would miss meetings, but i was wrong.

  I went last night to congregation I attended over 3 years ago. I would say about 75% of the people didn't recognize me because of my shaggy hair. When my mom told them who I was the love bombing commenced. They would say how much they missed me and how I should "visit" more often, then they ignored me the rest of the night. One gungho super elder practically cornered me and offered me to study with him, he was waaaayy too pushy. I later told my mom "you can always depend on Bro. Superelder to make you feel uncomfortable (this same bro. would always ask in front of everyone where you were and why you were gone if you missed a few meetings).

  I noticed in the memorial talk, for the first time, how much they jump around in the scriptures to "prove" the 144,000 are the annointed. Listening with a critical ear I could tell how absurd it was.

  While they were passing the wine the bro. giving the talk explained how wine was made and how fermentation took place so at least I learned something.

  All-in-all it was an hour and a half of wasted life I'll never get back.

  The (Un-memorable) Memorial. 30 minutes of sitting around hearing the same tired crap about Jesus and Jehoover and how utterly special the (un-)faithful & (un-)discreet slave are. Then passing around a couple crackers and some wine.....And you don't even get to eat or drink it! Since I'm unfortunately going to this year's memorial (ugh!) I think I'll bring some cheese for those crackers. At least I'll get a snack.

  I have a Dell 21" widescreen digital LCD. I love it, way better than any CRT monitor I've ever used. I've also had a Dell 17" and 19" LCD, they're reasonably priced, sometimes they come as a free upgrade when you by a Dell computer online.

  Urban Legends in the JWs

  what was your favorite urban legend whilst you were in the jws that you now know to be just a buncha hullaballoo?

  my favorite one was when a child brought a smurf doll to the kingdom hall and that thing just got up and went screaming out of the kingdom hall on its' own two feet.

  I just heard a new one. Not so much an urban legend just a ridiculous statement to boost JW's ego's. According to a JW in my old cong. the great Bill Gates of Microsoft absolutely loves to hire JW's because of their honesty and work ethic, he seeks them out. This is evident, according to this person, because a lot of JW's in the Seattle/Redmond area in Washington state work for Microsoft.

  This is ridiculous for two reasons

  1. I highly doubt that Bill Gates has anything to do with hiring for Microsoft except maybe the executives, and even then probably only a very very small percentage of them.

  2. Microsoft is a HUGE corporation that has over 33,000 employees in Washington State alone therefore it's no surprise that a percentage of them are JW's.

  OK, one more reason

  3. The JW's I've known have no better work ethic than anyone else I've seen, they're pretty normal really.

  Silly JDubs.
