they look lovely mooching around in the grass and moorland totally oblivious to what's going on around them.. until they stand in the road in the path of your car.......licking the tarmac!!.

Why do they do that by the way, lick tarmac (asphalt)?
Now i once killed a sheep totally by accident. It walked out in front of me whilst i was doing 50 mph and wiped out the front of my car, so i know they can be unpredictable.
So you sound your horn as you approach the wooly bouffanted beast....and it just stands there, doesn't move....licks the tarmac. Then you sound your horn AGAIN, twice...it looks up at you with a " Whaaa??" look on it's face and starts licking the tarmac once again.
" Hey DOLLY, what's with the TARMAC?!?"
Now here's what i've been thinking. I think sheep are totally THICK!! In the face of possible vehicular carnage they prefer to lick the road. That's pretty stupid in my world.
Now then.......Jesus used sheep in some of his illustrations. Sheep aren't teachable or meek, they're just THICK!! They just follow the shepherd and don't ask questions. Wooly minions. Makes me wonder why Jesus used it as an illustration.
I don't believe in JC anymore and i whilst i don't want to cast any aspersions on those with a belief system centred on Jesus (i'm not saying all christians are stupid people), it seems to me that until some people start lifting their heads up from licking the TARMAC, their minds will forever ignore the car horn sounding right in front of them.

personally, i like them here.
they provide themselves a purpose to make lurkers question the "apostates".
that's fair, imho.
Well they seem to provide some kind of entertainment.
Personally though, i find all this debating over scriptures that goes on with them totally mindless. Apart from the poking fun at their asinine argumentations.
I do find it marginally intriguing why people even BOTHER entertaining their ramblings though.
The words PEARLS and SWINE come to mind.

long story, will get to the end.
did it all as a jw, married a pioneer, both multi generation witnessese, da ourselves 15 years ago, shunned by all our families and life long friends.
lost her six years ago to cancer, she made a last minute return for the "love" of her family, so i lost her too.
Hey Lesterd
It's a crazy mixed up and perverted world inside the JW faith and you have experienced and are experiencing just that!!
Peace and Strength to you in this difficult time.

i heard once a comment or quote that said something to the affect,.
"do learn from negative people, is to lower yourself to their thinking and to learn from their vast years of mediocrity".
with that said, i think it pays sometimes to reflect on who we listen too in our life, and more important, who we strive to please and be life.
We can learn from negative experiences, when we look at them retrospectively. Being around negative people for prolonged periods though, is not good IMO. At the time we are in their company it drains us and gives us no pleasure at all. To help a negative person is very noble and at times necessary but when it starts encroaching on our own peace and mental health, it needs to be curtailed. It would be foolish to jump in and 'drown with the drowning man'.

.
i love carling 'extra cold' lager.. .
i am going to the pub tonight - whoo!
GUINNESS!!!!
Poured correctly (2 part pour, it CAN NOT be rushed!) and kept properly. The Guinness we get in this country is exactly the same as Irish Guinness but the Irish stuff tastes better cos they know what they're doing.
I'm not really into getting trolleyed as i used to be but give me a perfect pint of the 'Ruby Juice' and i'll gladly drink it until i fall off the stool.

this was a typical response to any kind of complaint or sharing of a personal situation with anyone in the congregation.
instead of offering up some kind of physical or emotional support, almost 100% of the time me and my family would get the old:.
"don't you know that there are brothers worse off than you in the world, whom are truly hurting?
This thread raises memories of being criticised for HELPING 'weak' people, friends of mine that needed a bit of fellowship and assistance.
One elder said to me "You wanna keep away from him (a young teenage bro' i was helping) , he's always depressed, he'll just drag you down too"
I was just gobsmacked!!
I didn't listen. Thing is though, that was a familiar kind of sentiment that could be heard being expressed regularly.

Awwwww Gregor, you could have asked him if he knew he'd been rumbled and that we all now thought he was an arse. But that's maybe why he had the ansafone on, so he didn't have to reply to wised up humans.
He was probably playing poker again with Jesus whilst balancing two tennis balls on a tennis racquet in a vain attempt to impress and distract his son from the game...or something like that.......

my mom called last night to tell me he passed on sunday.
he died peacefully and fairly painlessly.
my mom said she was talking with him, went to answer the phone, and 5 minutes later he was gone.
Tintagel Castle......now THERE'S a lovely place and what a gorgeous colour the sea is. Memories.
