I got DF'D yesterday

Kids referring to older ones as AUNTIE or UNCLE
by lowden ini don't know about other patrs of the world but in the uk, youngsters were expected to refer to older ones as auntie or uncle.
i publicly told my children not to do this, i thought it was reeeeally creepy.
my main reason for this is that i think it creates trust in people that are strangers to the family unit and for some kids, it's part of the grooming process for molestation.

Whilst i genuinely respect the views of the posters that think refering to others as auntie or uncle is 'nice' or 'respectful', they should think of how 'safe' this makes the grooming environment for child molesters to operate in. A social worker specialising in this area told my ex-wife a few years ago that the JW faith was RIFE with these paedophiles. This was before the real truth of this hit the shores of the UK with the infamous Panorama TV programme. The WTS in the UK should address this and strengthen their almost non existent Child Protection Policy. It stinks!

I publicly told my children NOT to do this, i thought it was reeeeally creepy. Kids trust people that they see as auntie or uncle. I think it's very sinister and much more appropriate to refer to older ones as simply Brother or Sister. in the non specific Brotherhood sense. I just wonder who started this trend.

I agree with fullofdoubtnow. But i think that up to 25% would leave, particularly young ones and teens. Loads i know were having sex and leading real bad double lives, that are still there after years of covering up. There's also those that just use the KH as a social gathering, never read the bible, never study, but are trapped by family or circumstance or plain weakness.

The grass is greener wherever there is genuine, unconditional, impartial love. The god of the bible and paricularly of the old testament does not support these qualities. Sadly this is also the god that christendom and JWs give their allegiance to.
REX, If god judges a person based upon their 'heart condition' then why does he/she/it, kill babies and children????? And for goodness sake THINK before you reply!

INACTIVE....FOR ALL TO SEE!!!!!!
by Gill inmy husband and myself have not been to a meeting for over 4 years now.. we learnt last night from my sister that our names are still pinned on a list of inactive publishers on the notice board at the back of the kh along with about 15 others!!!!!.
i'm totally gobsmacked having considered ourselves successful faders!!!!.

What Bible Characters Fascinated You?

thinking back the characters that i was most fascinated with were those like jezebel, delilah, queen vashti etc.

The Big Four-Oh Today...
by Confession inso i'm 40 today.
wow.... not only have i never celebrated my birthday, but my "date-of-birth" (april 20th) has always coincided with that of adolph hitler's and, more recently, the 1999 columbine student massacre.
furthermore my daughter has just informed me that today (4/20) is also inernational marijuana day, apparently to coincide with the term "four twenty," which stands for pot.. anyway, although age 40 has traditionally been one of the major mile-markers in peoples' lives, i feel great!

CONGRATS ma boy!!! My 40th comes up in August and i'm going to my best friends place next week for his 40th. I don't think i'll be having a crisis though, that came when i was 30. Boy did i have a crisis. Like you i feel good, better than when i was 18. I keep fit (i'm a personal trainer) and i'm thinking 40 is just a number. Have a nice big beer!!
