so there i am yesterday, driving through the lovely english countryside enjoying the rolling green slopes of the hills.

now in my part of the world (lancashire) there's lots and lots of sheep!!

they look lovely mooching around in the grass and moorland totally oblivious to what's going on around them.. until they stand in the road in the path of your car.......licking the tarmac!!.

Thanks for the info' about why sheep lick the road. I thought there must be a....sort of reasonable explanation.

All i can say is that they must REEEEEALLY like it!! The threat of imminent death usually puts me OFF my food.

Maybe all that grass they eat actually turns into an hallucinagen in their stomachs and.....they............couldn't........................c.c.care........lessssss....

Very simple statement but i would say it's pretty much one of the main reasons why most of us joined.

Their reasonings are put across by people who seem to be totally and utterly convinced that what they are saying is the only truth on the face of the earth.

I was also 18 at the time and although technically an adult, i was very naive and green.

Here's another thing. When you first start going to the KH, people do seem genuinely loving and kind. Sometimes overpoweringly so.

But then.....you slowly begin to realise that it ain't all 'sweetness and light'.

I also think that Karl Marx was very insightful about why people are religious.

my son just informed me that his grandfather left him and his brother, (his only grandsons) , money for their education.. i had no idea, of the amount but it did make sense to me...a suposed $50,000.00 but the will was on a small personal computer and promptly erased by someone in my mom's kh at her request.. she has in the mean time shunned me, and low and behold sent $200,000.00 to the society.

this tires me beyond belief.. thanks for listneing....i am feeling crazy!.

Everything written to a computer hard drive that gets erased, leaves a 'shadow' and can be retrieved. Or so i've been told!!

You should make enquiries and consider legal action.

Bloody Hell though......$200,000 to the WTS??? My coffee and croissants may be coming staight back up

somehow, i seriously doubt it.

it was spoken about when i was growing up that that was supposed to be the "loving arrangement", but i never heard, saw, or did it myself, nor did anyone else.

since i wasn't allowed out of the house, much less date until i was 16, it wasn't really an issue for me anyway.

I'd like to know where chaperoning actually originated. It's not mentioned or even intimated in the bible.....is it?

Let's face it....if yer gonna shag, yer gonna shag. No chaperone is going to stop two lust driven humans from playing 'hide the sausage' if they really want to.

Men, women and toilet seat etiquette

i've never quite understood the big deal about men leaving the toilet seat up but since i hear so much about it i try to comply.

i do have a pet peeve.

sometimes when i lift the seat there are obvious signs on the underside that a female has used it and not bothered to 'tidy up'.

I remember reading in the Insight Book or maybe some other place, that the reason he shoved her out the door to the waiting mob was because it was better that she get raped than the Levite get BUGGERED..........because he was a HOLY man. Yeah.....and that means.....what exactly??!!

The Ancient Israelites and the god that they invented are among the sickest and most violent personages ever to be written about.

There are too many twisted, evil stories to mention but here's one.

Remember the Levite that went looking for his concubine that had run away? He finds her and then ends up giving her to be raped all night long by a bunch of wierdo's. Then when he finds her dead on the doorstep in the morning he gets angry with the men that raped her (but he gave her to them for that purpose?!!??!). So he chops her body up into twelve pieces and sends each piece to one of the 12 tribes of Israel.

Now i'm not usually lost for words but....

I always understood that apart from falling in relation to its hold on the WTS, that it had also fallen in regard to its hold on the ordinary person. Churches closing down and people not respecting priests in the way they did at one time.

The thing that they didn't seem to harp on about as much though, was the decline in other religions apart from Christendom.

I know they have produced articles attempting to say that Eastern religion is on the decline too but ( although i don't have the figures) that really doesn't seem to be the case.

Islam is HUGE!

Hinduism is still very prevalent and powerful in the East, as is Bhuddism.

The list could go on.

Just because Christendom appears not to hold sway anymore in the Western world doesn't mean Babylon has fallen!!

To say that 'Babylon has fallen' because some American blokes from a tiny, tiny religion got out of jail is not only hilarious but also extremely pompous and arrogant. But what's new.
