The Westboro Baptist Church is a hate group made up of wackadoos, and he's the head wackadoo. They pretty much hate everyone, but especially homosexuals.

Trolling Apologist vs. Informed Apostate - WHO IS MORE LIKELY TO CHANGE?
by BizzyBee inin the battle between apologists and apostates, who do you think more often comes around to the other point of view and why?.
imho, apologists (or trolls) are just potential apostates who need a little more time in the oven.
(in other words, they are not fully baked, only "half-baked.

***in Matthew 24:45 Jesus told us he would appoint the F&DS.
it's because Jesus promised these ones that i have even more faith in Jesus.***
Hi Rosalee and welcome.
Jesus never identifies the FDS. He makes no promises. He asked his followers a question because men speaking twisted things would indiscreetly identify themselves as his brothers. Today we know those men as the Watchtower Society.
He asked a question at Matthew 24:45
“Who REALLY IS the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave IF his master on arriving finds him doing so.
Same question recorded at Luke 12:42
And the Lord said: “Who REALLY is the faithful steward, the discreet one, whom his master will appoint over his body of attendants to keep giving them their measure of food supplies at the proper time? 43 Happy is that slave, IF his master on arriving finds him doing so!
The operative word is REALLY because the ones who will boastfully identify themselves as the faithful slave are fakes, imposters. The faithful slave would be discreet, unpretentious, modest — not demanding unquestioning submission of his fellow slaves while usurping Jesus the Master's authority.
Another key word is IF. It says IF the master arrives, not WHEN. As jgnat already explained, it's a parable, not a prophecy.

badboy said: Never the less, it is interesting to note that they menioned church hymns in their magazines.
When I first started reading the older Watchtowers, I found it strange that they also glommed poems from Christendom to illustrate a point or just fill out the page. Not necessarily wrong... but very strange to my latter 20th century inculcation.
The ones that praised Lord Jesus/ the Messiah would probably cause a scandal today. They'd be considered part of Babylon the Great or "of Satan" — one more reason the Bible Students/ WT could not have been chosen in 1918.
jgnat: Looks like they had plenty of healthy competition! No wonder they had to differentiate themselves with weird doctrines. Probably the major difference is that the other movements didn't fall to a hostile takeover over by a corrupt lawyer.

Exactly like the purple-ink pictorial spread in the Paradise Lost book.
That little girl clutching her dolly as she fell into the earth-crack was ME.

Does A School Yard Bully Attitude Take Over This Discussion Board?

***Regarding the second part of your commentary I let the article writer know that it was an impressive piece of writing.***
How kind of you to let him know. The "article" writer has only been around for what, 10, 15 years and maybe he was starting to wonder about his impression.
***The conflict was with the style not the actual writing. It reminded me of a teacher I once had that taught well, but could not write on the blackboard. If you are going to write as an authority or professional it must include not only the content but the style.***
The conflict was with your presumptuous attitude and condescending "advice," which you still obstinately fail to acknowledge.
It says "everyone welcome!" here. I was not aware that this was a professional writers' forum where authoritative "articles" were critiqued for word counts and *must* adhere to your personal style guide for web presentation. When were you installed as style Nazi anyway?
Some folks are still learning to type, please go easy on them. :–)
By way of background, I know just a little bit about style. You see, I'm a graphics professional with about 20 years experience in art direction, design studio management and editorial support. I primarily work in publishing, sometimes advertising.
So, please, do not think for one moment you can leak on my leg and tell me it's raining.
If that makes me a schoolyard bully, so be it. I'm still nice enough to wish you the happiest of weekends. :–)

Truly disgusting plead for cash in KM School this week
by MinisterAmos ini wish i had posted this earlier so you guys could have gone to school this week to check it out, but the km school was a long winded plea plea for cash donations, reminding us that "jehovah will be grateful".. how i wanted to raise my hand and ask if the great need was related to paying off the child molestors or ask what happened to the$100s of millions from the property sale, or ask why they needed money after kicking out all the bethelites (two booted bethel couples in the congo).
anyway you guys missed a good laugh.
if anyone wants i'll post the km magazine.

Minister Amos, thanks so much for posting this! I got the rusted gears in my mom's head creaking last week with the oil of truth about the pedophile payout + real estate selloff. Didn't take much for her to connect the dots.
Her "antennae are up," as she would say, about pleas for more money now.
And thanks to all here who still attend meetings, for whatever reason, for keeping us in the loop.

***I really was not complaining about being "bullied" by anyone per se.***
Oh, pulllease be honest, yes indeedy you were. I saw this brewing 2 or 3 days ago where you rather arrogantly criticized a poster's writing ability and received equally critical responses in kind.
The "believer vs. atheist" debate is a convenient red herring but that distraction will not fly with me. Do I look like a dumb blonde? Oops, don't answer that. :–)
I said to myself, "Self, The wanderer will soon start a topic on bullying." I am not psychic. I just saw this coming.
***When an individual offers their perspective, viewpoint or opinion on a matter why does a “we got to get him attitude” take hold?***
The writer was not asking for your perspective, viewpoint or opinion on *how* to write yet you saw fit to attack his ability. Who threw the first punch from out of nowhere, who was the bully? You even commented on an expected lack of participation in his topic — which carried on quite merrily without your further input... or unsolicited word counts.... or advised style guides. Did you confuse JWD with the TMS during some sort of weird flashback? It seemed so out of character, but then...
"Pride goeth before a fall." Well, you fell into some virtual doo-doo of your own making, and then started *this* topic to enjoin others to wipe the crap off. Sorry, friend, but I will not do that for you. I can empathize 1,110% that your pride is hurt, recognizing it is a self-inflicted wound.
No one is/was "out to get" you, but if you're going to dish it out, you must to be prepared to take it. That's not bullying, it's par for the course.
I mean that most respectfully, as I've been there/done that, and lived to regret it, too!
