you probably had 1 bad experience with a brother and decided to leave the truth.
Yes, starting with the one who baptized me. After that experience, it rapidly went downhill.

DESCRIPTION
The Museum is delighted to present our elegant edition of the Holy Bible. Profusely illustrated from the magnificent Italian Renaissance Bible of Borso d'Este, it uses the beautifully written prose from the King James English translation of the original Latin scripture. Borso d'Este, the Duke of Ferrara, commissioned his bible in 1455. With more than 1,000 illustrations, the border on each page is sumptuously decorated with lovely vermilion and blue rosettes, gold ornamentation, delicate butterflies, birds, deer, trumpet-blowing angels, fierce dragons, and charming miniature scenes in perfect harmony with the biblical stories. The masterful miniaturist work from the Borso Bible illustrates events from the Old and New Testaments, and was interpreted in the spirit of the Este court with the refined style and aristocratic depictions of the figures. This exclusive Museum edition is housed in a custom-contoured slipcase.
892 pages, over 1,000 full-color illustrations. 16 3/4'' x 12''. Hardcover, with slipcase and hand clothbound.
ART HISTORY
At least five different artists collaborated in the creation of the Borso Bible, which was made between 1455 and 1461. Discovered through documents which indicate that both principal illuminators, Taddeo Crivelli and Franco dei Russi, found it necessary to employ assistants and subcontractors, fellow craftsmen like Marco dell'Avogaro, Giorgio d'Alemagna, Malatesta Romano lent their hands in its production. The text was written in two columns in exquisite Renaissance calligraphic script by the Bolognese scribe Pietro Paolo Marone. The elaborate illuminations and rich decorative elements, along with the exquisite prose, combine to create a breathtaking collection of Renaissance art.

the longer you watch this the funnier it gets!.
(by the way: great hair!).

who is this man?
Singing in the video is Edward Anatolevich Hill, a Soviet-era vocalist once celebrated as the “Honored Artist of the USSR” in 1968 and “People’s Artist of the USSR” in 1974.
Because Edward’s performance was poorly lipsynched (albeit to his own vocal track) and entirely composed of mouth music without any lyrics, the song was perceived by some westerners as highly eccentric. One of the surreal moments comes in at the chorus part, during which Edward can be heard singing “LOL” over and over again—as though he’s laughing directly at the viewer.
Of course, this is just a comical misinterpretation of him singing “Tro-lo-lo.” In fact, the song still remains quite familiar to the older Russian audiences; the Sovie Azerbaijani singer Muslim Magomaev had previously sung it in the 1960s Soviet television show The Blue Spark:

Additionally, there is an even earlier version of the song, sung by Valery Obodzinsky in 1967.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHf9BJdgdBo
It’s sung in a style called “vokaliz,” a cognate of the English “vocalise” or vocal exercise. Vokaliz is not, however, a vocal exercise but a style of singing similar to pantomime or even American scat singing of the 1920s.

That's a good laundry list, but I'm not sure any publisher could hit all points today.
The first thing that comes to mind is my mother's 1960's Jerusalem Bible, beautifully printed and bound with embossed covers. Also for the thumb indexes (indices?). This is the edition I grew up with beside our greenback NWTs. Always LOVED it, the bridge between us being outlaw JW's and our family history as Roman Catholics.
The illustrations you describe are typically engravings from the artist Gustave Doré, that alone should aid your search.

nov 15, 1952 watchtower pp.703-704 questions from readers .
questions from readers.
in the case of where a father or mother or son or daughter is disfellowshiped, how should such person be treated by members of the family in their family relationship?p.c., ontario, canada.. we are not living today among theocratic nations where such members of our fleshly family relationship could be exterminated for apostasy from god and his theocratic organization, as was possible and was ordered in the nation of israel in the wilderness of sinai and in the land of palestine.

Thanks for the emphasis, it reminds me of Red Letter Bible editions. This article is the flipside: All threats and damnation!

we were told that the preaching work was lead and guided by ''angels'' and the holy spirit.. if that is so,why the need for magazine presentations week after week?
why is a half hour spent showing each member what to say and how to respond to certain questions?
why practice presentations when the angels and holy spirit are there to help?.
Education is part of how they maintain their tax-free charitable status, and maintain eligibility for $ as an NGO. Ditto as a Human Rights organization. This is how they can slither in and grow new victims even if governments reject their bogus religious agenda.
