This month and next, Earth is catching up with Mars in an encounter that will culminate in the cloest approach between the the two planets in recorded history. The next time Mars will come this close is 2287. The encounter will culminate on 8/27/06 when Mars comes within 34,649,589 miles of Earth and will be (next to the moon) the brightest object in the night sky. Mars will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. Mars will be easy to spot. At the beginning of August, it will rise in the east at 10pm and reach its azimuth at about 3am. By the end of August, when the two planets are closest, Mars will rise at nightfall and reach its highest point in the sky at 12:30am. So, mark your calender at the beginning of August to see Mars grow progressively brighter throughout the month. No one alive today will ever see this again!

he lives nearby a large kingdom hall which accommodates several large city congregations, yet he says that he's never been visited by the dubs.

I ve been at my residence since Oct 2002 and I have never seen a JW even on my street, its a very known street too. I live 2-3 houses down from JWs that I grew up with who know I am DFd, perhaps they do not come to my door because they told the KH that I am DFd, who knows but I have never seen them in my area.

I would see this happen all the time. My 17-18 friends would leave, get pregnant, and come back because they had no where else to go. I ran into a friend of mine a couple months back, had not seen her in 15 years. We were best friends. I approached her at a restaurant. OMG, it was great seeing her up until I mentioned this site. She could not believe that I visited "apostate sites" and that I had no plans of returning to the org. She still had a drug problem, and had just got out of prison the day before. She was with her "sugar daddy". I couldn't believe what I was hearing, yet she was so offended that I did not want to return to the org ever, and I go to "apostate" sites where I have learned so much. Needless to say, have not heard from her since, nor do I want to hear from her. It was crazy.

Have you seen "The excorcism of Emily Rose"? Creepy, but after I watched it, I had no demon problems. Also, when I was kid, I was not allowed to ride the Demon at Great America (Six flags). I have ridden that ride for last 14 yrs and I had no demon problems. I have thought about the smurfs, and had no demon problems. I have watched several demonic movies and I have had no demon problems. But, I do believe they exist, they have not bothered me.

by AK - Jeff inwifey and i were basically non-drinkers whilst in the dubland fantasy.
now we drink an occasional glass of wine or pina colada.. we're not very imaginative with it.
i know some understand the fruit of the vine well [like our buddy in oz, ozzie] and others enjoy mixed drinks.. which ones - and how do you make 'em?.

Kamakaze's, here is the receipe...
Its vodka, lime juice, and triple sec
use a snifter....fill it up with ice
1-1/2 oz vodka
1/4 oz triple sec
1/4 oz roses lime juice
shake it all about and pour.....

Bakini Martini (recipe from Cheesecake Factory)
If you have a snifter (usually looks like a tall glass, found at the bar to make mixed drinks)
Fill snifter with ice cubes to 3/4 full
1 shot of Barcardi
1 shot of Mailbu rum
Then fill snifter with pineapple juice (best if Dole pineapple juice in cans, not in the milk carton type, big difference)
shake it all about, make two glasses of Bakini Martini's
pour into the 2 glasses, then add a shot of Grenadine (used to make shirley temples in case you don't know), looks very pretty

i chose mine because i really feel 'in between', in that space where your not a jw anymore but really haven't figured out where you are in life and what path you want to take.
just thought it would be an interesting topic.

Family name but I am thinking should have been more creative so lately when I post, I end with "Nikki" because this is my first name (nick name for Nicole, but Nicole is way too stiff for a petite girl like myself with red (fake) curly hair). When I was younger, people always said I looked like Betti Boop. So, with this, I go by Nikki, its more free spirit type of name.

I always feel un-nerved when I overhear, or I am flipping through the channels on the TV and something is being said about religion or God. I instantly shut my mind off or turn the channel as if I am going to get a disease. Maybe I have a fear of being brainwashed again. I consider myself an agnostic and I like it.
