Saw My Mother!!!

i was on my way home today, and i passed my mother on the road.

tears came to my eyes immediately, just at the sight of her face.. i hate this religion.. but i love my mom.. i can't even remember, when the last time we spoke was.. i just want to sit down and talk to her, but i can't- i won't- because its her fault.

i left a religion, she left her son.

An added note to my post....back in 1992 to earlier this year, I did not know about this site, so I really did not have a common bond with people that were or who went through the same thing, the people that I knew were so wonderful but they did not understand, but you have many people here to give you encourgement. I am not saying that the hurt or the anger goes away because of JWD, I guess I am just saying, I wish I would have discovered it earlier.

My parents broke my heart many times while I was in the org and out, they were so cold. But they were and are (Dad only now) are so fricken brainwashed, they lived in a bubble, such a waste.

Dear Richie,

I was very hurt when my parents disowned me over this religion. I did self destructive things. I was very angry. I hated that cult and the main reason I left at the time was because of my parents even though I loved them very much. As some may know here, I have not seen my dad since October 1992, and my mom and I did not see each other from 1992-2000 when we reunited in Arizona. She eventually was disfellowshipped and is no longer a JW. It was a dream come true. I know 100% how you feel. I understand that it hurts very much. All I can say is, it takes time. I don't feel angry anymore, I just feel sorry for my dad now, he's the one losing out on so much and wasting his life.

I m a Nicole, I do not hate it, but I prefer to be called Nikki. I look like a Nikki too. I was actually born Gina Maria, but my mom changed my name to Nicole Marie so I wouldn't be made fun of, I guess Gina Maria was part of a saying...can't remember....

If I could choose my own name...I would have just named me Nikki.

Agnostic or Athiest--which makes more sense?

i can see how someone could be agnostic in their view.

who knows, who cares?

thinking that perhaps "god" is just a spiritual santa claus for people who are afraid of death, etc..... but atheism?

I am an agnostic. I do not have to have all my questions answered. I need to see it to believe it, I guess. The one thing that makes me think that God is possible, is child birth and the whole process. How could that have developed by chance? Of course there are other things, but this always gets me wondering....Being an agnostic works for me, because I like to be open minded and make my own conclusions whether it be privately to myself or verbally while in a discussion.

I ve been out for 15 years this October, and for the 1st 10 years, the watchtower haunted me, couldn't help it. Tried not to analyze too much about it though, I knew why it stayed so long. I was born and raised a JW. It was all I ever knew. I was part of cult. The proof is right here that we were all involved in a cult (or still are possibly). The last 5 years, I feel the remnants of the WTBS are out of my mind 98% of the time, until something pops up that will remind me of that prior life. These are just memories, that will go away because I am easliy distracted.

We all come here for different reasons, but I am sure one of them is that there is a common bond. So, even though there are those that say "they are free of the watchtower" and come here, I believe they are still free of the watchtower. Even though we may think about our past lives as part of this cult, does not mean we are still haunted, but some may be. Each individual will be different and handle it different. For me, its OK to wonder about the WTBS and the people involved, my heart goes out to the good ones still involved who are brainwashed, too bad for them. I love my life as non-JW even if the past existed and I think about it from time to time.

I never did, but I was turned in alot when I was a teenager. But, when I finally left the org in 92, I did admit to my dad the elder when I had committed fornication (when if finally did happen 3 months after I left home) so they he could get with the elders and I would be disellowshipped.

What's it like?

hello all.. i have always wondered what feelings people have in the hours/minutes prior to getting baptised, the seconds immediately afterwards and then the first few hours thereafter?.

i've never done it, but it seems like it would be a real head f-!.

anyone willing to share their experiences?.

I was 15. I was baptized at Sportman Park in Chicago, when I stepped on the ladder to the pool, I saw my dad! It was a surprise! He was going to baptize me. I was so excited. My parents bought me a new outfit, it was 1989, so I had this sundress that was hot pink and white polka-dotted. I had these cool white flats on that had ties, where you tie up the ankle and calve. I thought I was sooooo cool! I do not remember how I felt about the org, but I was very excited to wear my new outfit.

My being baptized was also to make my parents happy. That is basically how I did everything in those days.

will there be any industries, with people working midnight to eight?.

will money still exist?.

Will there be McDonalds? (I am pregnant right now, I crave their fries)

Will there be malls?

Will I be able to get a new car every 3-4 years?

Will I still be able to color my hair if I want to change things a bit or will I be so happy that I will not want change?

Will I like peas in the new system, cause I hate them now, they make me gag?

Will I get sunburn in the new system? Or will I just get nice and brown?
