There actually is ONE thing I can thank the WTS for.............
by Frannie Banannie ini finally figured out that there is one thing i can thank them for.
you see, because they are so rigid, dogmatic and unmerciful in their teachings, doctrines and practices, when i finally realized they are wrong, it made me begin to examine the alleged holy scriptures authored by religious leaders from the past and to finally see that it's all man-made.
when i believed strongly in bible writings, my view of reality was skewed effectively as a consequence.

Circuit Overseers Are On a Pledge Drive
by Severus injehovah's witnesses will be experiencing a special treat during their co (circuit overseer) visit this season: a bona-fide pledge drive.. during the thursday night meeting the normal co talk will instead be a video entitled:.
building kingdom halls advances true worship.
this 30-minute advances video is well produced and explains the watchtower society's program to build simplified kingdom halls in third-world and poor countries were materials and funds are scarce.. interviews and footage focus on south america, africa and eastern europe.

Bee silly but not stupid
by BlessedStar inhowdy all.. it's amazing how modernized the world is now.
i'm wondering if any of you people think that computerized and new technology is taking away the fun of natural life?.
eg 1. children are behind computers games more than playing in the park.

Your question(s) are so subjective. A picnic in Phoenix is not a fun thing. When I was staying in Dallas, to get out take a walk was like hiking in a mall parking lot. To commune with nature in Dallas, you gotta drive quite a ways. When I was in LA, all I could think of was that I was glad I wasn't allergic to asphalt or cement. To "picnic" safely in most city parks often requires firearms.

I got a couple of phishes too, both from Nigeria. The Washington Post reported that the majority of phishing schemes originate in Nigeria. Now, keep in mind that the NSA is apparently reading all mail (and doubtlessly taking down addrs) that originate overseas. Now, don't you feel safer?

Auld Soul,
You bring up a very good point. Of all the increments of time that there are in nature (months, days, years) the week is a purely man made span. Which makes one wonder what the little birds waiting expectantly by the cafes on Wall Street think of Sundays.

Judicial Committees
by Honesty inin light of the following scriptures regarding jesus, how do judicial committees and their members composed of three elders even remotely follow jesus' teaching and example?.
at dawn he went to the temple complex again, and all the people were coming to him.
he sat down and began to teach them.. then the scribes and the pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, making her stand in the center.

Guys, ILMFAO!!! I know this is a serious subject, but the absurdity of it all is just overwhelming. I mean, even Joesph Stalin wouldn't send you to the Gulag without a trial, one at which you had to attend. I just have all sorts of mental images of some stuffy, ignorant window washer in a bad suit sternly looking down at an empty chair, "And we're not going to have anything else to do with you! Mr. Smarty pants!" But, I guess that's what happens when you let weenies believe they can think.
Hey, hallelujah, you think maybe there might be a market in JC defense counsel?

So how were Adam and Eve different from us?
by upside/down in.
da bible says that they could'nt eat from the tree of knowledge of good and bad.... so did they not know "good from bad"?
and if that's the case... there is no "sin"...as without knowledge there is no wrongdoing (so says paul).. wacky xtians and their wacky deities.... u/d.

A&E traded life for knowledge. The WTS believe that can be reversed.

Of all the answers, I think Danny Hazzard is the closest. hallelujah, you are correct, however, the point seemed to be missed that in a national court, you aren't necessarily there because you want to be, you are there because the state reputes to want to find out the truth of a matter. The JCs are a bunch of kangaroos because they go into it with the assumption that you must have hosed up or you wouldn't be there. Whihc brings up the final rivet of irony: you are there because you WANT to be there. I mean, just the fact that you showed up kind of indicates what your "heart condition" is. However, you are dealing with janitors and house painters. Now, before I get stoned here, there is nothing wrong with house painters and janitors per se, but they serve on a jury, not on the bench. There is a universe between the two positions. Does anybody know if anyone just simply never showed up at a JC? I mean, what could they do if they "called you into the back room" and you refused to go. "Nope, sorry. I'm a little busy right now. Maybe, next wedensday. In the afternoon, possibly."

Just from my own personal experience, so take this with a grain of salt. (end of disclaimer) You are feeling pain because you care and because you love people who are going to be hurt by the wholly ignorant attitude of those others. In truth, they are probably feeling as much hurt as you; however, they beieve that all the hurt is a "good" thing because it is proof of THEIR sacrifice. Jesus warned that he was going to split up families, and in their very washed brains, what they are doing to you "proves" that Jesus is on THEIR side. Plus, they get to go to the KH and piss and moan to everyone their about how Satan has snatched you away and blah, blah, blah, and they will get some sympathetic attention. Somewhere in the back of mind I remember hearing about how "love never fails", and I have grown to truely believe that. But love is more than words and momentary emotions, (to rip off W. Churchill) "it is the long, slow, pull over time." Right now, I would bet even money that, over time, these people will come to their senses and realize what hokum they have fallen for. Dimembered is right, if you two just keep on doing what you feel is right, you'll get thru this much easier. And it may not happen right away, in fact, it might take years, but at some point down the road those two will admit a respect for you, which will be the road back.
