  okay...so i'm invited to a baby shower for my daughter-in-law which will most likely be attended by myriads upon myriads of jw's.

  i won't go into the nasty details...but they've been married four years now and have another little daughter...their wedding was boycotted by most jw's because she was not baptized yet (but grew up a jw)...and my son was.

  so every since the wedding fiasco...they have been pretty much shunned by the jw's...and attend meetings infrequently.

  I felt bad for my mom I knew she would take it badly and she did. And of course no comfort from the congregation.

  As for me I was secretly relieved. I could actually breathe and not have the feeling of drowning.

  I love the H-1s

  As for the SUV's I have a Jeep Cherokee. Trucks and suv's are a necessity in Texas. When there is flooded roads or muddy conditions, I don't know how many times I have been called to go get someone out of a jam. I will never have a low to the ground car again. It's not the vehicle that is a pain in the #@$ it is always the driver.

  my sister just got a visit from the elders.

  this was the first visit in 10 years.

  an inactive friend told me they are supposed to visit every year.

  I had been until three years ago when I finally told them not to bother me anymore. They came at the most inconvenient times and expected to come in anyway.

  They reminded me that I was forfieting my chance at everlasting life and regaining God's approval and could they share a scripture with me. I told them no don't bother. My realtionship with God has much improved since they did me a favor of disfellowshipping me. And I haven't heard from them since

  Dub cars unattended

  it's the district assembly for those in my congregation today.

  this morning i saw about 20 dub cars parked in a public parking lot.

  they left their cars there and took the bus to go to an assembly.. .

  Suing Tobacco companies

  what do you think about all of the lawsuits recently against tobacco companies?.

  i see 3 sides to the issue:.

  1. people should know better; it's clearly printed on the box how dangerous cigarettes are so they shouldn't sue.. 2. it hasn't always been known how bad they were.

  There has been a law suit against Mc Donalds. Some silly woman sued because Mc Donalds made her kid obese. That is the stupidest thing I've heard.

  As for tobacco. I smoked for a while. I noticed I had a cough. I quit. Of course it bad for you. So is drinking. Has anyone sued for getting a beer gut? Or losing their teeth?
