When I picked my mother up from the airport, she remembered had left her house
keys with a friend she could not get in touch with. I happened to have my spare set
with me. She thanked Jehovah. I asked her if she really believed that Jehovah was
truly responsible for my happening to have her keys with me. She thought about it and thanked me instead.

BE AFRAID OF THE ELDERS!!!
by minimus inthe elders now have the right to be involved in every facet of a witnesses' life!
they want your phone numbers, cell numbers, they are to be inquired of if you want to take a sh*t. these "good" men will turn into power hungry masters, if they are not already.
the society is taking control over every jw!

Actually fearing them is what they want, just like bullies. Standing up to them and telling
them straight to their faces that your not giving them any information you don't want
them to have. let's them know they can't intimidate you, just like bullies. Most will leave you alone
because there are a lot of others they can easily bully. I don't take their crap and I let them know it.
If they don't like it, so what, tough, get over it. Being a former elder I know their
protocol better than they do and give them all the rope they need to hang themselves. As you can probably guess, they
definitely leave me alone.

Even if you receive an offical reply signed by every member of the GB, if a person does not want
to believe anything negative about the WBTS, they won't. No matter how convincing your argument.
Having them make a phone call to Brooklyn headquarters, puts the burden on them and if they refuse to call,
it only questions their sincerity.

Any JW that goes into deny mode about the society ever being an NGO with the UN, should be provided
with the societies number and dared to call and inquire about it themselves. If they refuse to call, it's proof that
they don't want to know the facts and we are wasting time.
. . .in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled;
and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. . . (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

Just because we fooled you shouldn't stop you from fooling your kids!
by slimboyfat inparents are naturally concerned that their children not make the same mistakes they did.
the society seem to be worried about the power of this impulse to protect one's children.
page 161 of the new book live with jehovah's day in mind reads:a dampening of our expectation of jehovah's great day could reveal itself in the advice we give to our children or to others.

I learned the hard way that the WT$ doesn't play by the same rules they expouse. For example, every JW knows what the WT$ says should be done if someone our words or actions causes hurt or injury.....apologize, seek forgiveness and seek peace.
w93 11/15 p. 30 Be Quick to Admit a Mistake
An apology is usually appreciated, especially if made quickly. In fact, the sooner we admit a mistake the better. To illustrate: On October 31, 1992, Pope John Paul II admitted that the Inquisition had acted “mistakenly” 360 years ago in punishing Galileo for asserting that the earth is not the center of the universe. Yet, postponing an apology for such a long time tends to diminish its value.
The same is true in personal relationships. A quick apology can heal a wound caused by an unkind word or deed. Jesus urged us not to delay in making peace, saying: “If . . . you are bringing your gift to the altar and you there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar, and go away; first make your peace with your brother, and then, when you have come back, offer up your gift.” (Matthew 5:23, 24) Often, restoring peaceful relations simply requires admitting that we handled matters wrongly and asking forgiveness. The longer we wait to do this, the more difficult it becomes.
When has the WT$ ever done followed their own advice? What is it called when someone doesn't practice what they preach??

Warlock,
That's my point. Their admissions of guilt are weak and vague. I wouldn't say that
qualifies as a sincere, honest and straightforward apology. This attitude has a trickle down
effect, in that, most in positions of oversight in the congegations act the same way.

Many of us, especially those raised as a JW, took a lot for granted. It was coming to us from those we trusted, our parents.
We were pawns. We had not yet come to know better. I don't fault the ignorant pawns, for I was once one.
