ok, the governing bodies say that as christians, "they will learn war no more". this means no hand guns, weapons,no learning the martial arts and such as a means to protect ones self in case one is attacked. now, prince takes freakin body guards with him in service? isnt he making preparations for a physical confrontation with who knows who? what bullshit! could you, as a good little dubbie, carry a billy club in your service bag incase of attack? and dont kid yourself, the gorilla's that follow the clown prince around all day are packing heat. and something tells me when prince toured bethel, the leg breakers with him, didnt check the pistols at the door.

Why do the majority of "newbies" disappear ???
by kid-A ini have noticed that, in general, there is a "core" of regular posters on jwd that have been members for several years.. however, it seems the vast majority of "newbies" disappear after a couple posts, days or perhaps a week.
how many "welcome" or "introduction" .
threads have we had here where the new member disappears within a day or so, never to post again?

Would I really want to be in the "new world" anyway...
by hartstrings inthis morning in the shower i was thinking about why it is that jw's preaching (like i used to do) about a paradise with no wickedness really bothers me.
if jw's are right and god is going to destroy the majority of people so that just those who happened to live at the right time, in the right place, etc.
can live forever with a couple of men telling me, a woman what to do, no thanks.

nope, most of the "worldly" folks i know, i like. most of the dubs have absolutely NO personality. wouldnt we all get pretty tired of praising god, all day, every day? 5 times a week seemed plenty to me before. just think how much more of it would be going on in the new system.

Shepherding Call

one elder made several calls to her asking when would be a good time to come by for a visit, yet, when they (plural) get to my home, it's me their primarily interested in talking to.
hell....i didn't ask for a visit and have told them on more than one occasion that i'm entirely satisfied with my life as it is and that if or when i need any assistance from them that i will call them?

hey man, only you know how it is to live with your wife. if you are otherwise happy with her, dont F it up. if she is still a jw. she will see all this from a different angle than a non jw. the elders are bound to secrecy concerning anything they talk about with you. remind them of that. and tell them they are not to discuss you with anyone, including your spouse. you are not a sheep, so by definition, you have no need of a shepherd.

went on a boat tour of the lagoon where we saw the majestic sea eagle, a beautiful bird, sitting right near its huge nest up high in a tree.
the guide explained how the sea eagles always have 2 eggs, but as the chicks mature one of the chicks becomes dominant and starts hogging all the food, then it starts fighting with the weaker one and eventually kills it or pushes it out of the nest.

this may be a local thing.....but i think they are incredibly CHEAP. i was once with a bro and sis and she wanted to get a soda, but she had no money on her. the bro said he would LOAN it to her if she would let him have the first sip. i just bought her the pop. i thought to myself, "these are the same clowns who say they would give up their lives for each other?"

examples:
jesus didnt show up in 1914, and rapture didnt happen. proven untrue. they changed belief when cornered.
the definition of "generation" was changed when it was imminent that the original understanding was to be proven false.
wouldnt one think that they would "receive" a new understanding "occasionally" on some trivial matter? how's come it is only the real big provable stuff that doesnt seem to get transmitted real good from jehovah to the faithful slave?
wouldnt they be more believable if they would get some new light on some more innocuous matters? why would god do such a good job delivering the small stuff, but screw up so bad on the stuff that makes up the foundation of the faith?
here is an example of some small light. rememember the locust's(?) of revelation? they have hair like that of women. the faithful slave says " the hair like women is symbolic of the witnesses submissive nature, therefore the locusts(?) are not actually women, they are just portrayed that way to illustrate their total devotion and servitude to jehovah."
ok, this is something that can never be proved or disproved by anyone at anytime. so, rest assured that on this subject or any similar "lesser light" the j-dubs are rock solid! at least they still got that.
i would imagine that i am not the first to think about this.
