Blind and Crippled not allowed
by peacefulpete ina very strange story in 2 sam 5 about david's capture of jerusalem.. 6(k)now the king and his men went to (l)jerusalem against the jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, and they said to david, "you shall not come in here, but the blind and lame will turn you away"; thinking, "david cannot enter here.
7nevertheless, david captured the stronghold of zion, that is (m)the city of david.
8david said on that day, "whoever would strike the jebusites, let him reach the lame and the blind, who are hated by david's soul, through the water tunnel.

Misquoting Jesus
by SickofLies inbook review: the popular perception of the bible as a divinely perfect book receives scant support from ehrman, who sees in holy writ ample evidence of human fallibility and ecclesiastical politics.
though himself schooled in evangelical literalism, ehrman has come to regard his earlier faith in the inerrant inspiration of the bible as misguided, given that the original texts have disappeared and that the extant texts available do not agree with one another.
most of the textual discrepancies, ehrman acknowledges, matter little, but some do profoundly affect religious doctrine.

Can someone explain Mosaic Law please??
by Super_Becka inok, so maybe i should've asked this a long time ago, but i'm a little slow sometimes.
my apologies for being uneducated in this particular area.
hey, i'm still learning, that's why i'm here.. i've seen a lot of references to mosaic law here on the board, but i'm a little unclear as to what it is, what it says, what it means, and who it applies to.
