  yesterday pm while on gabbly two jw's came into my shop (former customers) with an overheating problem.. they saw my other copy of coc.

  i asked what can we do for you?

  they both were staring at the book, i noticed the car was spewing steam and coolant.

  Well the brother called me back a few moments ago and let me know the problem was a blown radiator hose.

  After a few seconds into a tirade from him that I was trying to rip them off, I reminded him that I offered a diagnostic to determine the reason for the cars loss of coolant and overheating and that the 79.90 would be applied to the repair.

  He was still ranting so I kinda lost my cool with this idiot and I said WAIT A MINUTE AND SHUT THE HELL UP

  Do you remember the book COC and he said yes, I then said you are now guilty of apostasy as you saw the book and sought me out so stick that in your pipe and smoke it and don't come back and I hung up. and started cackling like a fool

  I love the responses.

  They do know (the couple that came in first know I am a former jw) they stopped coming when I asked about the UN. I was on their magazine route and they brought me the books insight on the scriptures.

  If they come back I will use my camera phone and take pix you should have seen the look on the co's face

  I forgot to mention that I offered a diagnostic first for 79.90 and would apply that to the repair but car would have to cool down first to do a pressure test to determine source of o/h problem, but was late and they had to get to the tms and sm and talk by the co and they were running late.

  I usually keep the book COC on my counter so it can't be missed by anyone coming in.

  They saw my other copy of COC. I asked what can we do for you? They both were staring at the book, I noticed the car was spewing steam and coolant. Needless to say they ran away.

  A few minutes later a third person (that was in the car) came in The visiting CO! I was listening to their problem and I told them since it is an 05 Toyota Avalon with low mileage the repair is covered under manufacturer warranty.

  The response was that the dealer couldn't get to it til tues after x-mas. Could we fix it now. I told them the approx price was if radiator parts and labor about 350.00 and to replace thermostat and gasket another 60.00. This was too much and it is the CO's car could I give them a discount.

  I said would you like a copy of the book and maybe we could talk

  They left in a huff. They mentioned they might come back today I will see what happens NO DISCOUNTS!

  no, not that one, the phone one.

  i got a horrid, creepy telemarketing phone call from some guy (apparently-he never got to the alleged purpose of his call) this weekend.

  he went on and on, calling me by my first name, asking how my husband was, chatting about this and that, and when i basically said-who are you-why are you calling?

  I took advice from one of the posts about John Mabe and calling a murder scene.

  I just tell them they've called the Dallas County Morgue and everyone here is dead so unless they want to ID a body don't call back.

  My god I sometimes have a weird sense of humor, but I have very few calls now

  i have noticed a large number of topics are about depression, some of mine included.. do you think that having been in the borg and losing lifelong friends and family because you no longer buy into their interpretation, is unique to jw's or do most other religions play these mind games?.

  i've borrowed two, one is a wonderful yamaha and the other is a fender made in china, plywood and it sounds not so good.

  those of you who have gone through this - what would you recommend to me if i were your favorite poster?.

  I saw your post about a Takamine and I asked Jake who has been a professional guitar player for over 40 years.

  His guitar of choice is the les paul and he also has a duolean. He said if you get a takamine you probably won't be very happy with it.

  Go to a guitar store and try some out see what you think, how they feel to you and the sound and the quality of construction
