  What were you praying about before you left the JWs?

  i was earnestly praying to serve jehovah and give him my all.. in short order i found i was heading toward the unthinkable.

  i was on my way out of the watchtower and the only life i had ever known.

  pretty ironic.

  I can't remember the last time I prayed as I recall none of my prayers were ever answered. I do have a prayerful state of mind though and sometimes I just feel like crying because of all the hurt from the borg belief system and how my family has been totally alienated from me.

  in the u.s. we had a voting day yesterday that decided more than just any one candidate for any one position, but which ideology (democratic or republican) would hold sway over the government.

  if ever there was a time to weigh in, you'd think this woulda been it.. but i didn't.. of course i'm lazy.

  of course i'm distracted, and busy, and unsure of where to vote.

  it might have escaped your notice but sirona and i are totally in love and seem to have a mutual appreciation society thing going on; however this has not taken place without causing some online problems as some of you might be aware.. both dawn (sirona) and i are conscious that we have hijacked a number of threads given our perpetual state of being loved up.

  given the untold frustration we might have caused to some posters we have decided to launch our very own jwd loved up thread.. this hopefully should allow threads to go on being productive without the frustration of people (us) whispering online sweet nothings and flirting and we therefore invite you all to use this thread if you are loved up, have similar mutual appreciation societies or simply wish to flirt with other online posters.

  you can even use this thread to dedicate a post to someone who isnt online and who just lightens your life and makes you smile.. please join us and reassure us that we are not the only loved up people on jwd.. .

  yep....'tis true....she's more entertaining, better looking, and apparently provides hours of ''fun activities''.

  sometimes they get together with her one of her friends and play well into the night.... her name?.

  .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. xbox 360 and her friend gears of war.. lol...he got the gow game yesterday and stayed up till past midnight playing.

  as a lurker, i am now attempting my first post.

  a question for any who may wish to comment.

  what would be the response if i asked a jw to open our "discussion" in prayer to jehovah for our eyes to be open to the truth of what we are about to study?

  Most studies do begin with prayer and the expression you chose is not at all uncommon and is used quite frequently by many active dubs. It is also not uncommon to allow the person being studied with to open with prayer though not common very rare. Try and tape record the conversation that would be interesting.

  I really couldn't say I used to have a lot of jw's as customers but when I asked one of their elders about the UN it must have spread like wildfire because literally in 1 days time I have not had one of them come in here. That has been a while now.

  The screwed up things we've done to others and had done to us.

  i was reading up on some posts today and saw a few that got me in the mood to write down what i've been thinking about lately.

  i think about the things that i've done to other people and the bad decisions i have made, as well as the kind of person my choices made me into.

  sometimes it's easy to lapse into thinking i'm still that person from only a few years ago that didn't care about anyone else and walked all over people just because i could.. then i go further back and remember why i was so vindictive and hateful, it was from my heart knowing everything my head beleived was wrong, the irreconcileable differences between what i was taught to be the truth, what i thought family was, and what i saw it to really be.

  The past you can do nothing about except learn. Learn from any mistakes and try not to repeat them. You do have control over the here and now and your own response to others and things happening. Sometimes it is best to pick up and go on with life especially when family is involved. Sorry to hear about what happened when you were younger it just reinforces jw's are not a loyal people to family or friends.

  what have been the most effective reasons that you've given to the people that you love for why you're no longer a witness?

  considering that most dubs have the attention span of a 2 year old for anything from an a-prostate, please be consise and succint with your answers.

  just trying to plant some seeds of reasoning.... maybe in-depth discussions with those folks will come at a later time.
