To shun or not to shun ? Didn't Jesus teach that love conquers everything ? Did he not say something like "The first among you that has not sinned throw the first stone ? (sorry I can't remember the exact words.

My point is this, you atract flys with honey not vinegar. When I was active I could not with good conscience shun a person. How could I go agains Jesus' word and not show love instead ?

the rumor of him at one of his concerts asking all jw's to leave.

Well, I remember this with Gloria Estefan as the protagonist. The same week we heard about it every one in the KH threw out all her tapes, lp's and 45's. (If you don't know what they are you're to young LOL !).

i haven't been to meetings in a long time (trying to fade).

ever so often i do run into a witness or 2 who are friendly, but reserved (after all i am considered in active).

anyway, my hubby & i are currently working on a letter to send to the society that will more then likely get us df'd or disassociated (same thing i guess).

Excuse your self with "Oh, nice to see you (o.k. so you have to lie a little), but I was just on my way out" They will ask you when is another good time to visit and in your mind say "NEVER" but utter the words,"I don't know, why don't I call you ?"

It worked for me, so go on and give it a try.

despite his busy schedule, paul was always eager to do more in jehovah?s service.. notice how using an ot example leaves jesus out of the picture.. [picture on page 29] fear of god is a precious heritage that parents can pass on to their children.

September KM - 70 alterations in Revelation Climax Book

i can't find a thread on this subject yet - if there is one , please delete this one.. the september kingdom ministry has a 4 page insert detailing the 70 alterations in the revelation climax book which is due to be studied at the book study shortly.

i'll provide scans if anyone is interested.. i will leave it up to more experienced analysts to examine the reasons for specific changes , but just a few brief observations for now:.

p32 box - "they were completely exonerated" changed to "charges against them were dropped" - interesting change of terminology for the 1918 watchtower eight.

The revision to Chapter 34 p. 251 caught my attention. Half way down the paragraph the following is written: “Since Bible prophecies are often completely understood only after they are fulfilled or in the course of fulfillment, we will have to wait and see.” Does this apply to 1914, 1975, 2001 or pick your own prophecy fore told by the WTBS ? Didn’t they foretell prophecies before they occurred ? It just seems like a contradiction to me. Anyone else?

Last Assembly ever!

my parents are headed to the sydney convention this weekend.

she has told my sister this is the last assembly they will be having in this system.

the end is coming!.

The Last Assembly was in 2001. For me that is !

Through out the years more than one assembly was supposed to be the last. I heard it many times and yet preparations are still underway for next year and the year after that.

Badges for Conventions

each year name badges are handed out at the kingdom halls for those attending the upcoming district convention.

i have always refused to wear one but this was not a major issue as i would say only about 50% wore them anyway.

however i noticed that as the years went by more and more 'brothers' were wearing them including during the lunch break in the city centre concerned.
