  New JW.org video - using the simplified Watchtower to "teach" children

  well, now that the new jw.org website is up and running, the videos keep coming thick and fast.. this latest highly-polished production shows an asian family, evidently living in america (or some other developed country), explaining how the watchtower in simplified english benefits them.. here is the link.... http://www.jw.org/en/news/by-region/world/video-clip-helping-children/.

  the first thing that struck me was the boys playing football together at the beginning.

  it seems playing soccer in pairs (as with the ministry!

  No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?

  apologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.

  some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.

  anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.

  Rumor Elders Will Receive Name Badges For Every Meeting.

  i keep hearing rumors elders are going to be getting permanent badge cards to wear to every meeting.

  one excited brother told me, "it would be nice if new ones to the kingdom hall could see who their shepherds are.

  there is a great surge in activity, new bible students will be able to locate the proper elder in charge of bible studies!

  Well, you NEVER know! Every time there's a rumor that HAS come true many were saying it would never happen. I remember most denying the Book Study end/change but it happened. Many said "they would NEVER do that!" And yet they DID. Honestly there's NO telling but they are capable of virtually anything.

  Lady Gaga and an Ex JW

  last night i watched a show that, i thought, really shows the attitude of jws towards the rest of the world.

  it was extremely enlightening and i hope it opened alot of peoples eyes that think jws are just nice christian people, but are not a cult.

  it was a show on "e" that is called "opening act".

  JW's , Star Trek V and pain.

  since everyone is thinking of star trek this week, i have a question.

  in star trek v, kirk has a chance to have his secret pain removed by spock's half-brother.

  kirk refuses, and says that he needs his pain because it makes us who we are.

  I get that skype can be recorded, but the actual end to end connection is more secure than a land line since the encryption is very good.

  But yeah, they seem to think everyone's out to get them. If ONLY that were true.... Some justice would be pretty welcome for the crap they've put people through. I don't want to see the rank and file members suffer but I'd love to see the leadership held accountable.

  i have a relative that previously followed new age movement before becoming a jehovah witness.

  he listened to a lot of brain entrainment cd's, and now claims it's affecting his life as a witness.

  these sound frequencies supposedly have altered his ability to follow watchtower rules effectively.
