  I won't be able to put the extreme guilt trip about "self 'abuse'" on my kids either. I don't consider that healthy. I will be more balanced about it. I'll read the party line on it, but I'll also say does the bible actually comment on it directly? I just don't want the ridiculous guilt screwing with their heads like it did mine. I finally got over it and realized that birthing some knuckle children keeps me faithful to my wife and not going nuts trying to score some strange. If it keeps them celibate (until marriage) and thus out of trouble(STDs, hurt feelings), hey lesser of two evils.

  i understand jehovah's witnesses are always told that "the time left is reduced" and armageddon is "just around the corner".

  i understand that so many people have put off dental work, or medical assistance of other kinds, because of this.

  Exactly How Did (Jehovah) God Scramble the Languages

  we all know the account in gen 10: 1-10, where jehovah scrambles the languages of the people building the tower so they can't communicate with each other anymore.. and exactly how was this accomplished?.

  on the physiological level, speech and language is "coded" by physical connection between neurons in our brains.

  there is much more to be explored by science on this and it surely is well beyond my knowledge on the subject, but nevertheless we can all agree that learning a language, be it a native tongue or a second, third, etc language later in life requires time and effort for those neuron connections to form.. rewind back to said gen account.

  Watchtower CD library for Mac?

  does anyone know if the watchtower cd library comes in a mac compatible version?

  or has anyone been able to crack it so it works on a mac.. i know i can run emulation software, but don't feel like giving any more money to microsoft for a copy of their operating system.

  i have just bought a couple of mac laptops and find it so much better than windows 7 in almost every regard that i cannot understand why people still buy pc's.

  jwf, I started out on the Mac Plus, then eventually moved to PCs. Never really cared for MacOSX. My last Mac was a G4, and I use Linux systems as well. My current OS of choice is Windows 7. I am just so far beyond all the technological holy wars that people try to fan the flames of and I have no tolerance for it anymore. If someone's happy with what they have then that's fine.

  Question about moving from one congregation to another

  i understand that, if you want to move from a congregation to another, you need some sort of a letter from the previous congregation.

  i suppose that would be the root of many an abuse by the elders of the old congregation.

  what can you guys tell me?.

  Unfortunately the new BOE will defer to the old BOE's letter, even if it's biased or bad. They will at least hold off a while before a recommendation if they get a less than favorable letter. This happened to a guy I know. He was an MS, moved and the bro that was secretary didn't like him so he ripped him a new one. Took him a long time to be appointed again.
