I've become increasingly disturbed by having two versions of the WT mag. One thing I've always thought growing up is that our particular brand of craziness has always been out there for anyone to see. Now they print things like "no one should choose between religion and family, bla bla", and yet from the inside preach having nothing to do with relatives that are DF'd. I can't think that the only ones that see a problem with that is an 'postate internet board. There must be some that read that and it troubles them.

Has anyone heard of the elders being called independent agents. Spoke to a brother in the Legal department and he called them that.

i called the legal department and spoke to an older brother about the child molesters in my hall about a month ago.

he did not want to speak to me because i am just a stupid sister but he did finally agree and that was one point he made.

i talked to a current jw today and he told me that it came out in print from the wtbts that you can be a memebr of the ymca as long as you don't associate with the other worldlys that go there..

omg!!!

just a few years ago i was told that i couldn't be at the ymca because it was a christian org.. .

Observations since the book study arrangement finished

does anyone have any interesting observations since the book study arrangement in private homes finished?.

are jws happier with the extra night off?

do they miss the book study?

I'd have to say that the lack of book study has had a real negative impact. People don't get as many opportunities to socialize or feel the warm associate with others. If anything it makes people more inclined to just stick to their close friends or in their clique. Many who have a difficult time in public and thus have great difficulty answering at meetings would only comment at the BS. It's been all bad from the point of view of actually keeping people motivated in the org. On the other hand, everyone likes the night off.
