  What did people know about conception 2000 years ago?

  this is taken from a "new" scroll, discovered in the middle east in the 70s.

  it is believed to be a dead sea scroll, or a scroll connected to the essenes.

  it`s believed to be from the 1st century, and is referred to as "the angel scroll".

  Humans a long time ago concerned themselves only with food,fighting,and (you know).I am sure with practice and a lot of spare time they would figure these thing out.Sex equals baby,food equals nourishment,and fighting ( or running like hell ) which equals staying alive for at least one more day of sex and food.Basic instincts we still have.The ancients I guess wanted it to be more poetic and dramatic.But its still just plain old body fluids.

  remember all the talks from the platform that dealt with gossip or mumuring??

  in my old congregation....in just one year....one couple who was close to another couple and had been spending lots of quality time together decided to expand their horizons and partner swap !!!

  one spouse in each couple was an elder's kid !!!

  Like a laser beam in the eye.Elders would bitch at me about my hair or music while their kids would all be doing the usual sex drugs etc like they were blind to that.People in the cong. trusted me for some reason. I would hear lots of juicy details about folks at the hall.At circiut assemblies even more.For me I would say nothing.Just laugh to myself.

  today, i talked to my mom.

  my mom said that how my brother doesn't want me to be the best man at his wedding because, according to her words, "i don't respect the institution of marriage nor the creator of marriage, jehovah god and i might introduce the demons to the wedding ceremony".

  she based her opinion of me not "respecting the institution of marriage" on me, well, i won't go into it on the board.

  Hello ..Im Mentalist

  after starting a thread yesterday and taking in the various responses i feel i should set the record straight on a couple of things.over the last couple of days aswell as here i have joined jwo and slippys too.im not a troll but im not a board virgin either.these three particular sites have been mentioned to me (not quite recommended)by an ex-witness, so i thought id have a look see for myself.

  it feels like i know several characters already very well (having had indepth conversations about them)but im very suprised at the size of the community you have here.i was raised a witness but never baptised.family still all are and in fairness treat me very well as do members of my old congregation when i bump into them.i guess thats enough for now,cant be giving too much away this is the internet after all.

  btw..at times i realise i am not the best speller in the world(i struggled all the way through school),but to those people who replied to my thread just to point that out..bite me!your no different than the the type of elder who completely missed the point of how hard it was being a young jw but still took great pleasure in telling you how sports socks were not appropriate attire for the meetings.sheesh.

  well, i have once again put finger to keyboard and produced another article.

  i have to say that i have never had as much fun with a subject as with this one.

  you can really see the goofyness of religion under the demon microscope.
