If the number of partakers actually does increase to 24,000, I doubt that we would ever hear about it------------------The Society would have to lie. They would have to.
I've always felt that the Society is basically honest in reporting statistics because even when the number of partakers does go up (as it does most years) they always report it as such. But for the number to double? No, they would have to lie about it.
If they didn't, it would show beyond any doubt that the doctrine of a diminishing annointed remnant is one big crock. Either that, or they would have to say that everybody's crazy. Or that Jehovah is a very poor judge of character who is always picking wrong and having to choose replacements.
A B or C, it's one or the other, take your pick.

24,000 Partakers This Time?
by Cameron_Don inhave any been keeping up with anointedjw.coms gentle efforts to help the governing body, and all the rest of jehovahs witnesses, come to realize that there is just one hope for all christians the heavenly hope.
it will be very interesting to see how effective their efforts will have been at the up-coming memorial of christs death.
anointed.com is expecting that the number of those who will partake of the emblems may double from 12,000 to 24,000. .

"Watchtower actions have included, but not limited to, such crimes as murder, death threats, kidnapping, money laundering, coercion, bribing public officials and law enforcement, buying and fabricating justice, etc."
I wonder what "etc." is?
While we're at it, why don't we go ahead and say that the Watchtower is behind the Mexican drug cartels. Why don't we say the Watchtower kidnapped the Lindbergh baby. Why don't we say that the Watchtower is behind the 9/11 attacks. This stuff is ludicrous. Good luck trying to prove it. Somebody needs to get a grip on reality.

I don't think it is true................. I remember hearing those stories for years, but I never could find a single person, man or woman, who had actually participated. I never knew anyone who even had direct knowledge of such things. It was always something like: " I found out from Brother ___________ over in the next circuit that he had heard that there was a swingers' club that got started in a few congregations and the elders were trading partners." Shit like that. Crazy shit. I believed it at first, and then I began to realize that it was that Witness need for gossip and sensationalism that was driving it.
I'm like you, Ravens-----------------even if an elder wanted to do it, how in the world would he even bring it up???? At the next elders' meeting? Would he do it during the circuit overseer's visit? Or wait till he left town?
Nah, it's crazy. The stuff of Urban Legends.

Do you think the WTS is about to change the doctrine about 1914? If so, what are the signs that is under way?
by EdenOne inwhat the title says.
do you think the wts doctrine that says that christ was made king in 1914 is about to change?
if you think that's being orchestrated and prepared, do you see signs of that already?

But I think it will eventually have to be dropped because it makes no sense to say the end is imminent to an event that occurred over 100 years ago.
I tend to agree with James Woods. Sooner or later, they're going to HAVE to stop teaching it--------------------it's just going to look ridiculous.
Did you know that at one time, the WTBTS taught that the last days began in 1799? Yes, they did. They never officially abandoned that teaching, at least as far as I know. They just quit talking about it. By the early 1930s, it hadn't been mentioned for so long that everyone had forgotten what they were supposed to believe in. I think that they'll use a similar approach with 1914-----------they'll gradually stop talking about it and hope everyone forgets.

Alex keeps talking about tyranny from his own government - but he has no real plan to do anything about it other than keep spouting on about his right to own 50 guns 'just in case'. Those 50 guns are nothing if the military should arrive with sound blasters, fire throwers, stun grenades, drones - all this talk about fighting tyranny means nothing when there is no plan, no case, no real intelligent way to find a solution to it other than behind a gun which in itself can be lost to force in a heartbeat. That is not playing smart. sammieswife.
That's exactly what I've always wondered about, Sammieswife. Mister Alex Jones, you can have all the guns you want, but how are they going to protect you from "government tyranny." Whatever that is. All you folks who think that owning guns is keeping the wicked government at bay, please give me a practical scenario as to how your guns are going to protect you..................in other words, what do you expect the government to do, and what are YOU going to do?
It seems to me that Mr. Jones and his ilk are divorced from reality.
Offhand, I can only think of a couple of incidents where, apparently, the "enthusiastic" gun owners decided to go up against the United States Government and they were going to teach the government thugs a lesson. Waco and Ruby Ridge. You can argue all you want about who was right and who was wrong, but the basic facts are pretty simple: a lot of people died and their guns didn't save them from the mean ol' government. Did the government lose? I don't think so. So I'll you ask again: give me a plausible scenario as to how the government is going to attack you and how your guns are going to save you.
Just wondering.

Why dose the WT hate porn?
by on the rocks inporn movies are the most positive ones...no murder,no war, no fight, no cheating, no suspense (every body knows the climax).

It is my opinion that pornograghy poses a HUGE problem within the ranks, from the lowest to the highest...... porn is something that can be done behind closed doors, totally in secret, you won't get arrested, and no one can smell it on your breath or wonder why you're acting stoned or drunk or crazy. It has always been my opinion that the Society actually LIKES pornography, and by demonizing it so much, it subtly encourages the brothers to indulge in it.....the Society is very skillful at turning the vice around to it's own benefit.
How so, you ask?
I will tell you how: Porn addicts always have to feed their habit, and after a viewing session (which always culminates in masturbation), the brother, young or old, is so full of self-loathing and guilt that he will seek to assuage his guilt by becoming more "spiritual". He will attempt to bribe his way to forgiveness by putting a little extra in the contribution box, and by spending a couple of extra hours in field service, and by volunteering for the grunt work at the assemblies, etc. etc. In short, the Society can get a whole lot more out of a person when that individual is flogging himself (no pun intended) over what a wretched, worthless person he is and how much he needs the ransom sacrifice and blah blah blah.
The WTBTS is a very devious outfit and they know how the human mind works. They are always figuring ways to work the guilt complex and make the addictive/obsessive/compulsive nature of humans work for their benefit. Can you disagree?

I don't watch much TV, so I've never even heard of Piers Morgan. Or Alex Jones, for that matter. But after watching that interview, I would have to say that Mr. Jones advanced the cause of gun control by leaps and bounds. Piers handled himself with class and dignity, and didn't even hardly have to say a word. From what I've read, it appears that Alex Jones is known as a hothead with a short fuse, but I would think that he would've been told by his handlers (and I mean that in the animal sense), that a CNN interview is not the place to cut loose. That's what I would think, anyway.
From watching this, it seems to me that Piers directed questions as a lawyer would in a courtroom when cross-examining a witness. The questions were one-sided and could elicit only one answer------------the witness either answers and looks bad, or pleads the Fifth, says nothing, and still looks bad. Mr. Jones realized his predicament and decided to go on the rampage. It looked REAL bad. Like the Biblical proverb says, one who can't control his temper is like a city whose walls have been breached and torn down. Mr. Jones was breached.
As Mouthy and Berengaria and others mentioned, this guy is a perfect example of someone who shouldn't be allowed to own a gun. Yet somehow he owns dozens...............if he had had one of his 50 firearms with him, he might've gone postal right there in the studio. With rage like that, I'm surprised that he hasn't already gone postal.

Can you equate Jehovah as a murderer???
by cognac inhad this long talk with hubby about the fact that if you allow your child to die because of the blood issue you are no different then a murderer.
he said then jehovah is a murderer because he allowed his son to die.
he knew what was going to happen and allowed it when he could have stopped it..... hmmmm, not sure how to wrap my brain around that.

If you're going to believe the Bible, then you have to accept the fact that Jehovah God is the worst mass murderer in the universe. I remember reading once where some Biblical scholar did an exhaustive study and came to the conclusion that God directly killed over 35,000,000 people. Some of them might've deserved it. Maybe. I wasn't there, so I don't know for sure.
But some of them did nothing more than.........oh, for instance...........reach out to try and keep the Ark of the Covenant from tipping over. (Uzzah) Or tell a little white lie about how much money they put in the contribution box. (Ananias & Sapphira) Or being unfortunate enough to be the first-born in an Egyptian household. Or doing nothing worse than wanting to eat, drink and get married just before the Flood. The list is endless, and it appears that it doesn't take much for Jehovah to get pissed off. And you better watch out when he does--------------people tend to die.
Incidently, what else is Armageddon going to be about other than the murder of 7 or 8 billion people? As far as I'm concerned, our tender, loving and merciful creator can keep his tender loving mercy to himself.
