I have been invited to a judicial meeting.......
by AK - Jeff inon october 8, at our local kh.. i knew this day was in the offing - i have been playing hide and seek with the bastards for a few months now.
they tried to corner me before the co's visit, unsuccessfully.

go to the meeting with a tape recorder and tell them which policies of the watchtower bother you and have them defend it. Also mention how you feel it is important to use common sense with religious views and have them reason with you why it is important not to use common sense. Then post it on the site so 1- it will show outsiders how ridiculous the society and it's reasonings are and 2- we can all get a good laugh.

Hello all, decided to give you a update.
I had the gateway tablet/laptop for a few weeks now and it is a charm. I have been using it to take notes at lectures at college but also to record the professor at the same time (it has a little mic in the corner). Turns out that this is hands down the most useful laptop I have ever owned. It come with wireless G and bluetooth so you can surf the internet on wifi, a bluetooth enabled phone or network cable. For any of you students out there, really consider getting a tablet.

The tablet does have some little quirks though, which really isn't a big deal to me.
- For one thing, the screen smudges a lot because you hand is on it all the time. I've gotten used to it already.
- the stylus has to be calibrated every time you change screen rotation (I love this feature). It only takes a few seconds to do.
- The digital pointer on the touch screen shifts slightly when you are writing near the bottom right hand corner. It was annoying at first but I am use to it already and compensate.
- It is a little on the heavy side with the 12 cell battery but then again, it last about 6 hours.
hope you find this useful.

Hey gary, here is my setup, the articulating arm is great.
I picked it up about 6 months ago when I was considering buying a 30 LCD monitor. I realized that for the cost of the monitor, I could pick up a smaller 19" lcd monitor and a dual articulating arm with a separate video card for less than half the price of the 30" monitor. I love this setup because it actually makes it easier to do video editing, posting on JWD, cut and pasting from the internet directly in to MSword and so on. Later on when funds are better, I will upgrade to a imac because I really like apples OS and many of their programs but I also need access to window stuff so with VM Ware, you could run both OS at the same time or boot up into either OS. You might want to consider this as well.

Have to go to work on Saturday, long day.... On Sunday, it's studying (college courses) and then a dance party in the evening. I have to say that my social life is busier now, I am still meeting a lot of people and making friends. I can also say that I don't miss the kingdom hall, the conditional "friends", nor the "busy" work. I feel a lot more fulfilled doing the things I'm doing now and can appreciate how much I've been blessed since I left. One more thing, I want to thank all of you for sharing your experiences, joys, disappointments and all those encouraging tidbits of information. It really helped me to rid myself of the small remaining tentacles of the societies grip on my life and allowed me to go forward unbridled. Definitely sped up the adjustment period to just a few months.... I wish I could buy you all a round at the pub.

What shocked you first, into realizing the world was not like the JW's?
by free2beme ini left the witnesses in 1997. i was trying to make new friends and met some people through the gym.
my spouse and i went to their house for some dinner, and we thought it would be a great time.
also, we wanted to get to know people that were not witnesses and get a foot-hold into our new life.

I went to a apostafest in NJ and "gasp", these poztates were drink'in liquor and smoking and having a grand old time.... I need to go to a kingdom hall and sing some kingdom melodies to get that image out of my head! ;P

cool, I think many witnesses would actually get a laugh out of this... Ted Jaracz would hate it and use it as a example of how witnesses are persecuted.
