YES! It did take time for me to get to this point now.
One day I thought of that scripture "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" - and it has a whole new meaning to me. The truth about the "truth" did set me free.
i do.
once you realize how much bondage you were under....it's easy to feel good not having the weights of man made rules.
it's very liberating for me to tell people that i no longer associate with the jw religion----very liberating!!

a member of the gb splits breaks away and takes a few billion with him.
he decideds to found his own church.
this church is almost exactly the same as the jehovah's witneses except for a few major changes .
No.
I have no need to.
most people think the candy cane is a meaningless decoration seen at christmas time.
but, it is more than a sweet decoration.
it symbolizes the true meaning of the season.. .
Sorry Iv4fer - it's CHRISTMAS candy - you can't eat any of it until AFTER CHRISTMAS or it might look like you're celebrating.
Just to be on the safe side (as I wouldn't want you to be unduly burdened with temptation) - you should hand all your candy over to me for safe keeping
some of us might be naturally forgiving types.
others may not be so easy.
i've seen families extend forgiveness to persons who have killed one of their family.
I don't think I could forgive someone who hurt my kids. That would be a tough one!

Don't beat yourself up - instead, focus on what is good about you. I bet you have a ton of wonderful attributes. We humans tend to put most of our energy and thought into what's wrong with ourselves instead of what's RIGHT. Take stock in who you are, what you've done good - and go from there.
.
what would be your recommendations?.
my mom lives in a mobile home and wants to get one - i was thinking of buying one for her.
Does anyone have one? What would be your recommendations?
My mom lives in a mobile home and wants to get one - I was thinking of buying one for her. Any pros-cons that you know of?
what is the most ridiculous things you have done for a cigarette?.
i would have to say that walking three miles in very cold weather without really knowing where i was going..trying to find a gas station...and without a warm coat!
!..yah that would be the dumbest thing i've ever done to get a cigarette...that was about..ohh..umm...three days ago.
Hey Missy. I can sympathize. I smoked for years - quit -started again - quit...yadda yadda. Now I still smoke the occasional one (like when I'm out at with my girlfriend who still smokes).
When I was still a smoker, I once walked about 3 miles in a very "non tourist" area of Mexico at about 10:00pm at night to get a pack of cigarettes. I should have known better - but I was quite a bit younger than I am now, and "under the influence of tequila"
i was just thinking about the publisher stats and the birth rate, that was mentioned.. do you all remember in the 80's at the assemblies everyone was encouraged not to have children, to spend their time pioneering, because at armeggedon and in the time of the "tribulation" that it would be difficult with small kids.... to wait until the new system.. i remember a couple that pioneered and she really wanted kids, so her husband made her a deal that they had to pioneer for 5 more years and if the "end" hadn't come yet, they could have kids.
i think they were reaching 30. i do remember 5 years went by and they had a son, that was probably 15 years ago.
can you imagine the people that followed the advice and now are too old to have kids, but spent plenty of time pioneering?.
I, for one, completely ignored their advice. In fact, I had my first child at 20 before I was married - what a rebellious little one I was (ha ha).
I'm glad that I had children. Not only do they add so much to my life, but it's a chance to contribute to the future. I feel that by raising well balanced individuals that really care about other people they can make a difference in this world.
.
do any of you have the matrix wish i could just forget all this attitude sometimes?
me and the wife were fightitng again and she asked why i can't just go back and pretend or just forget all this... she said as an athnostic you either don't belive in god or don't believe that god cares so why can't you just go and fake it... i was dumbfounded i ask her why can't you just get the f*ck out and stop faking it... she stormed out and i sat down here..... so i ask ya, if you could forget all the negatives about the wbts (i know thats a lot) and just go back like nothing had ever happened would you?
No. I value freedom. Freedom to make my own choices, to research what I want, to express my ideas, to listen to others and their ideas. It's a valuable thing that I did not have for the first 24 years of my life. I would not be willing to give it up now.
we talk it to death.
every subject.
is it really of any benefit to you to let it out here?
It helped me get free. So yes - it's worth it.
Every year they show an increase.
Of course - that is according to their OWN numbers - and we all know how honest and accurate they are with numbers . I wouldn't put a lot of weight on that. What I do know is that a lot of people have been helped, not only by this site but by people like us sharing our stories elsewhere and being there to help others. It is worth it.
If the JW religion ceases to exist it will just be replaced by something else as equally awful. Try not to get hung up on attacking the organization as a whole - just focus on those individual people (sheep) that can be helped.
