  i think that when you are in a cult like the dubs, things stick with you whether you want them to or not.

  i still pray before meals and bedtime...anybody else?

  Whenever I clean out my closet or organize it, I keep things aside I think of as "bookstudy" clothes, and then remember I dont go to bookstudy. And when I see a preview for a rated R movie I disregard it, until I remember I am ALLOWED to watch them if I want!!

  i don't know about you guys, but i never pray before eating and never pray before going to bed.. first of all i like a hot meal, so i don't pray before eating, and i also never pray before going to bed, because i might fall alseep before i say amen.

  Yes all the time. If I am super tired, I pretty much skip it becasue I know I am just going to fall asleep anyway.

  Needing advice on recently DF'd neice

  this is my first post so i guess that means i am not a lurker anymore.. i have been inactive for nearly 2 years now, but recently my teenage neice was df'd.

  she has moved out of home with another df'd girlfriend of the same age.

  i know she is getting a lot of pressure from my family to come back, and of course she would be feeling very alienated and probably confused.

  Just be there to support her, let her know you have had the same feelings after leaving the org, and let her know there are alternatives to her parents helping her out...finding a job etc. Probably sharing alot of what you have learned willl help her as well.

  I guess they had this "study" together, and they would go to it after morning service during the week, apparently it was okay for them to be alone because thet were pioineers and not dating, plus most often, during midweek service, no one ever met except pioneers and it went unnoticed. I believe the study was fake and they would go up int othe mountains (rural service is the best). Sounds romantic doesn't it!!!!

  We had two Annointed people( one was elser, other was a pioneer) got DF for having a several year long affair.

  We had two pioneers that got DF because they were knockin boots out in service and she got pregnant. I found that one to be a liitle shocking because they were EXTREMELY young, (girl in early teens, I think 13 or 14) and he was 18. He was charged with statuatory rape. Then she got reinstated and DF immediately again for getting pregnant by some traveling pioneer that stayed with the famil for a couple weeks.

  Rachel had been disfellwshipped was a good one, my personal favorite.

  most everyone knows that jehovahs witnesses do not celebrate birthdays.

  the reason is that there are two examples given in the bible of birthdays and bad things happened both times.
