  Young Baptism Candidates

  had a visit today from my youngest daughter (17) a non-jw.

  lives with her jw mother.my wife.. the circuit had their assembly last weekend.

  her mother told her they had 12 baptised.

  Most of our baptism canditates were verrrrry young. I was only 13, so was my brother. Neither one of us is in the borg now..hhmmmmmmm......

  Did You Cheat at the Written Review?

  during the boring written review, did you really prepare and look up the answers beforehand, or did you just write anything down or did you copy the superdub sitting next to you?

  personally i just wrote any old thing down and ticked it as right when they read out the answers.

  however when i was growing up i had to get loads right or i would face questions from my mum!

  as an elder, i always seemed to be at a meeting.

  I used my retail schedule alot and saif I was attendijng the other congeragations meetings when necessary, but never did. Also, sickness, PMS etc. I always found a way out of giving talks, or I would try to see if I could switch householders to my Mom..we ended up giving alot of talks together. We really weren't big fans of other people in general.

  i remember that a few months ago, a member gave the reproduction of a publicity corresponding exactly to the picture of a nice swimming girl appearing in the "you can live forever ..." book.. this image is on my website (the first one on the page) :.

  Ever know of a great family movie, the Witnesses found demons or evil in?

  i remember growing up, the witness children were often ones that were left to see all those g rated movies from disney.

  yet even those at time, while accepted by just about every religion out there, were considered demonic.

  for example, the following movies were said to show witchcraft and in or congregation we were encouraged to discard them and not own copies of them; sleeping beauty, snow white, the little mermaid, bed knobs and broomsticks, and fantasia.

  IS MAN INHERITEDLY GOOD OR EVIL?

  all of us were raised by someone and even though our cultures vary greatly as to what constitutes "good" and "evil", there's some pretty basic guidelines that people are generally raised to believe.. if there were no set guidelines as to how we should act, would humans grow up good or evil if there wasn't someone else telling them what to do?

  i'm confused about the whole "american flag" do's & don'ts.

  what is the real take on it....is it wrong to have anything patriotic?

  is it wrong to say the 'pledge of allegiance'?

  I know as a JW we were not suppossed to put allegience into anything but Jehovah (AKA the BORG) but I personally see nothing wrong with patriotism, being proud of where you are from.
