Time flies when you are a "Witness". And before you know it, your whole life is behind you. How sad.
And then they wonder why some are "bitter".
my mother became a jw when i was six months old so i was brought up within the confines of the organisation.
i left properly in my early twenties and i am now 43 so a good 22 years of life, post being a witness have i travelled and documented thus far.
mine was a typical experience of a child in the congregation and i was busy doing my best to be a little adult as the child within slowly fell asleep.

And then they wonder why some are "bitter".
it seems to me that in every kh i've attended, jws love to occupy the latter half of the hall.
any ideas why?
.
When we were much younger my brothers and friends would like to sit in the VERY front seats to try to make the other laugh or fumble while giving a talk!
Some fun we had.
when exactly is the end?.
i am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.
" matt 28:20. .
I am coming into this late becasue of technical problem with my account.
Nevertheless, I am of the opinion that in Matt 28:20 our Lord refers to the "end of the Age", which could (and probably does) refer to entire Gospel Age; or until the Church is complete. That would take us up to Armageddon.
I DO NOT neccesarily believe that this is the same "end" that is referred to at Matt:24:13.
The phrase "the end" is definitly context-driven.
Also, I would like to comment on the QUESTION/ANSWER posted from the Watchtower.
I comment - If Jesus Christ IS "with" the Society's so-called "anointed followers", why is it that this great "disciple-making" includes almost NO MORE "anointed followers"??
yesterday we have a study of the watchtower about obedience and submission.
this study arose a lot of questions and heightened emotions in me and the interested retired judge sitting besides me.
we came accross the 9th pharagraph, page 28 of the april 1, 2007, where it says that: "it is easy to obey when everything is clear and we agree, but we will show that we are trully submissive if we yeild even when we do not personally understand the direction provided.
You have just described quite well the Papacy at its rise to power.
as we are told by the wt, commenting at the meetings is supposed to be a way of expressing your faith in the congregation.
i hardly felt this today during the wt study today or every meeting for that matter.
it seems more like this is the time when everyone wants to correct others or direct their comments in a way that it's condemnatory to others.
Perhaps one's FAITH in the organization.
As I was in there longer and longer I found that I could comment less and less because I agreed less and less. Finally I left. Sometimes I wonder if the thing to do is to express one's questions and doubts aloud while still in the organization???

Just out of curiosity, does anyone else here "see" the organization possibly morphing into something much more powerful and far-reaching that it currently is? (possibly in a political sense???)
i just returned a customer's phone call and heard that on the voice mail.
every now and then these come along, and i experience a few emotions or thoughts.
my thoughts and experiences, and yes i know everyone isn't like this and there are a lot of great, humble, christ serving people here and out there...this isn't directed at you:.
Don't understand how this would upset anyone (short of perhaps an atheist). I don't see anything wrong with it.
from mercury online in the u.k.. our witness daughter is not allowed to talk to us.. they were once devoted believers-but a husband and wife say their faith has been tested and their family torn apart after they were thrown out of the jehovah`s witnesses.
members of the bradwell congregation- including their only child, a daughter- are now forbidden from speaking to david and brenda gibbons since they were forced to leave.
they were thrown out by a judicial committee at great yarmouth kingdom hall in july, after writing a letter containing personal criticism to another member of the congregation.
Dear Family,
Essentially you are being held hostage by this action. If it's any comfort, you are not alone, this scenario has happened many times over (my family included) and continues on.
The Achillies heal of the organization is that it is ALL voluntary enforcement; one volunteers to shun another. I look forward to the day when enough individuals say "ENOUGH!" When you see your daughter (or any "Witnesess" for that matter.), BREAK THE SILENCE! Show them that they have NO control over you! Christ died to set mankind FREE, if you are truly Christian let NO ONE bring you under bondage again!
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Gal 5:1
Peace to you,
John
publisher definition :.
1. a person or company whose business is the publishing of books, periodicals, engravings, computer software, etc.
2. the business head of a newspaper organization or publishing house, commonly the owner or the representative of the owner.
This term "publisher" always bugged me when I was a "Witness."
can't get into the details, but need help and info on the topic of the jonadab class.
the story goes like this, i have a very intelligent jw friend who i have talked to much in the past few weeks.
anyway, i started to ask him some serious questions regarding 607, false prophecy, deut 18, and the like.
I have to put in my "Two cents" too.
They rest their faith on many "strange things."
I will give you my understanding, "in a nutshell." This issue goes back to the discourse given by Judge Rutherford, "The World Has Ended—Millions now living may never die." At that large convention a "new understanding" was suggested by Rutherford that the new hope for a Christian was not Heavenly but rather here on Earth. Towards the end of this discourse the "Judge" asked everyone who felt they were of this "earthly class" to stand, a great many stood. And he announced, "Behold, the great crowd!" Some time later, it was announced through the WT that this group, or "class", was prefigured by Jonadab of the OT. Thus you have, the "Jonadab class." Tah Duhhh!!!
For more information look in their "Proclaimers...." book, if you have access to one.
Hope this helps!
