My JW Daughter sends a Letter to us Explaining her Shunning of Me

my wife and i sent my 22 yr.old pioneer witness daughter and her husband a anniversary card and $ 40.00 and flowers the end of april.

my daughter wrote mrs. flipper and me each our own individual letters thanking us initially for the gifts - and then went into detail as to why she has not spoken to me for over a year and shunned me.. keep in mind as i paraphrase some of the highlights to these letters that the only negative thing i have said about the organization to my daughter in 3 years was to show her the ap news release about the child abuse settlements by the wt society .

i'll quote parts of the letter to mrs. flipper first :.

I saw my brother go through a very similar thing. He was not invited to his only two daughter's weddings, and has never seen any of his grandchildren.

I thank God all the time that his spirit pulled us out before it got to that point, but we still did not come out unscathed.

God's spirit rescued you and it can rescue your daughter too; don't forget it.

i wonder if we each put up who we lost from our lives and how long ago if it would be a testament to those who might find this thread and think.

the absurdity.. my parents: 12 years.

Elder says that there're apostates who are organized in Spain

an elder said that there are apostates organized in spain to make the sale of the spanish branch money go to the congregations that provided the funds.

he has photos of the place from an email and had heard this from a circuit overseer who just visited there.

has anyone heard confirmation of this?.

They are called the "Jehovah's Witnesses"!!

i guess you could reason that whatever your religious views were, your core is you are who you are.. did your personality change for better or worse when you left the organization?.

Call it my own suspicians, but I don't think it was "stupid" or even accidental the fact the Rutherford was thrown in prison. Remember, "the end justifies the means". This created a martyr's aura surrounding Rutherford and his cronies, actually making the man MORE powerful and influential.

I don't think it was ever the intention for him to remain in there. And more so, I think there were some powerful people (maybe on Wallstreet) that had him and his buddies exonerated. If you read his quotes carefully in the "Proclaimer's" book during the time he was in jail, and it is obvious that he had no intention of remaining in there. I believe he KNEW something! And it was not that "Jehovah" was going to save him.

That man practically invented "Dirty Politics".

to this day, in all countries, any persons among jehovah's witnesses who find they cannot conscientiously support fully the organization's teachings or practices live in a climate of fear, feeling they must constantly be on guard as to what they say, what they do, what they read, with whom they associate, from whom they receive letters, not feeling any sense of freedom even when among personal friends or close relatives if these are also witnesses.

as stated, in my personal experience i have had people phone who were afraid to give their name or who felt it necessary to use a fictitious name, some who even felt it necessary to take out a special post office box to be able to correspond without danger of their correspondence with me or other former witnesses being discovered.

they face a form of "hostage" situation, produced by the organization's authority.

Many people enter the "Organization" because they are attracted by so-called love. Then , when they realize that it really is NOT love, they are restrained by FEAR.

Difference between Spirit Inspired and Spirit Directed?

the title says it all.. what arguments have you heard in people trying to defend the org in saying they are 'spirit directed but the writers and gb are not spirit inspired'?.

i have never seen much of a difference.

this seems to be the crux of the matter.

I don't doubt that the "Organization" is spirit-directed.

The question is though, WHAT spirit?? NOT the Holy Spirit!

The destruction of the temple at Jerusalem signaled the end of the Jewish age. The collection of the church and the establishment of Christ's Kingdom will signal the end of the Gospel age. Jesus statment to his apostles more probably referred to the end of the Gospel age and not the Jewish age, because they were to Kings in his Kingdom along with all the Saints throughout he Gospel age.

Remember the Apostle John's concluding statement long after Jersaelem's devastation:

"Even so, come, Lord Jesus." - Rev 22:20
