Many, many, many posters here have wondered what happened to the religion that they were raised in or baptized into 20 or more years ago. I just got the shock of my life on JW(dot) Org.TV! There is a video testimonial of an American Indian Witness that was inactive for many years and has now begun to preach again. The video is: Forest James-A Medicine Man Encouraged Me To Read The Bible. He goes out in service wearing TIGHT black jeans and his Native American beads around his neck! Where will all this rebranding end?

Inactive ones are not JWs
by gone for good inyears ago, the insinuation was often presented, that those who were inactive were actually not witnesses at all.
the point being made was that ''...winesses is a verb, not a noun...''.
i know there were published assertions to this end in the older books and magazines, with possibly even quotes from the likes of rutherford or knorr ,.

Go figure! I haven't been out in field service since 1990 and haven't been to a meeting since last June. Two Elders just woke me up from my nap to invite me to the Memorial. The big KICKER was that they wanted to get my cell phone number and email to update the congregations files in case of a disaster in order to contact me.
Are inactive ones still considered Jehovah's Witnesses? Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, No, Yes, No.................................... -

Jehovah's Witnesses have now become the producers of 'religious pornography'. This video blatantly presents an unrealistic and distorted view of the lives of the everyday 'rank and file' of Jehovah's Witnesses. Josef Goebbels could learn a lesson from the Governing Body(tm)!! -

An email from a Jw "friend" to me (accusing me of apostasy) a few months back.
by objectivetruth ini was going through old email and i came across the below email from a former acquaintance of mine who is a jw.
when we were both jw's, we were both pretty liberal in our beliefs.
its quite interesting how cognitive dissonance kicks in, for many & not too much for others.

"Asking questions is fine and if you had come to the conclusions you came to without looking at all the junk you have been I would have patted you on the back."
So if you learn the Truth about the Truth on your own, you are a hero?
And if you learn the Truth about the Truth from someone else, you are a zero?

How do you overcome this JW excuse?
by EdenOne induring one of those meetings that took place before my jc, one of the elders, who was a good friend of mine back then and used to come up with a few outlandish personal views about some teachings, attempted to counter one of my arguments like this:.
eden - "well, if the truth doesn't change, why is it that what we teach as 'truth' has changed over the years (several examples given)?
how can we dogmatically claim at any given moment that we have 'the truth' if our teachings keep changing?".

EdenOne.................I would ask the Elder how the following information applies to his reasoning:
"Notice that worship in 'truth' is a must! It is therefore impossible to worship God acceptably without a deep love of the truth. The true Christian religion must be founded on the truth, not on traditions, creeds, dogmas and articles of faith that are often hard to understand because they defy all the faculties of reasoning with which God created us. - The Watchtower January 15, 1970 page 38 paragraph 2

Watchtower 'Experts' on Being Gay?
by jw07 inhave you seen this article?.
the watchtower is trying to be experts on all things having to do with human sexuality.. repressing sexual desires, gay or straight only creates more problems.. http://www.jw.org/en/bible-teachings/family/teenagers/ask/pressure-to-be-gay/.

Billy brings up an interesting point. Since Angels were created sexless where did their desire for sexual relations come from? Even more confusing is why did they materialize as men only and have only heterosexual relations? Why didn't some of them become gay and have relations with men? Why not materialize as a woman and have lesbian sexual relationships? Why not materialize as a woman and have heterosexual relations with a man? A rather narrow fable that does not take into consideration the whole range of human sexual relationships.

Why Do Atheists Struggle So Much Against God Who Supposedly Doesn't Exist?
by Perry inan athist made this casual statememt on another thread:.
this would suggest to me that there are at least some atheists that do have consistant beliefs.. .
as an atheist, how could he possibly trust the reason that suggests this to himself?
