"It's me, Jesus. I know you're in there. Please answer the door. I just need a few moments of your time so that I can record one more return visit and round up to my ten hours for the month on my field service report. Come on...........help me out here. The Elders are on my back about this and have been threatening to take away my privileges."

Counting Field Service Time
by Sour Grapes insomething that always drove me crazy was when the jw's would say after the meeting on sunday, "i have to go out this afternoon to get my time in.
" in the car group after service someone would always ask, "so how much time did we get?".
it the watchtower company said that turning in time is no longer required because jehovah knows what we are doing to serve him, there would be a tremendous drop in the door to door activity and the coffee cart work.

2017 Convention Video To Be Shown Regarding The 1975 Failure
by pale.emperor inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=go3arnnsfkk&feature=youtu.be.
no mention whatsoever that it was watchtower themselves that strongly hinted towards this date.
instead they blame those who "put their trust in a date, not jehovah".. let's recap... .

Your story rings true with me, Hairtrigger! Back in the '70's when I was a Pioneer, the hours goal was set at 100 hours per month. Every month, I would barely claim about 90 hours and sometimes actually make the 100 hours. My Pioneer partner, on the other hand, consistently reported anywhere from 105-115 hours. Today, he is a well respected Elder and I am 'persona non gratia' and have no association with the religion.
It's all bull$hit!

PIONEER: from Old French peonier foot soldier, from peon foot soldier. - Merriam Webster Online Dictionary.
Why so many childish rules and regulations for a Watchtower Peon? More rules and regulations to prop up the Ecclesiastical Hierarchy known as Jehovah's Witnesses.

At first I thought this was a 'tongue in cheek' topic and found it to be quite humorous! It turns out that it is a REAL thing. The technical term for it is: SOLOGAMY.

anyway, it jogged my memory and reminded me of something i thought i would pass on to you.back in the late 80s i had the opportunity to chat with ray franz on the phone and i asked him about this very thing.he didn't say yes or no to russel's masonic connection but what he said was something like, "he is buried in the masonic section of the cemetery so draw your own conclusion.

"And what is your refutation of him using a Knights Templar symbol on the front cover of Zion's Watchtower?" - Finkelstein
Are you referring to the image of a knight on the right upper corner of the magazine? If so, please provide evidence that this is an 'official' or 'sanctioned' symbol in usage by the Knights Templar. I have perused hundreds of images online and have yet to find this exact image. Also, I have gone on to some Templar sites and cannot find this image. Perhaps I have missed it and you can help me with this.

"There is no debate or question concerning Russell's being influenced by some of the unique Freemason theological ideas of which Pyramidolgy stems from"- Finkelstein
Actually this too is open to debate. Vienne rightly points to Smyth and Seiss as the most influential writers that influenced Pastor Russell's interest in pyramidology. However, Russell's 'theological' interest in the Great Pyramid may have been 'refined' by another minor thinker involved in the 'pyramid' discussion:
" A few year's after Prof. Smyth's return, came the suggestion that the Great Pyramid is Jehovah's "Witness", and that it is as important a witness to divine truth as to natural science. This was a new thought to Prof. Smyth, as well as to others. The suggestion came from a young Scotsman, Robert Menzies, who, when studying the scientific teachings of the Great Pyramid, discovered that prophetic and chronological teachings co-exist in it." - THY KINGDOM COME 1908 edition STUDIES IN THE SCRIPTURES pg 320 paragraph 1 (italics mine)
"In a letter to Prof. Smyth, Mr. Robert Menzies, the young Scotsman who first suggested the religious or Messianic feature of the Great Pyramids teaching,......"- THY KINGDOM COME 1908 edition STUDIES IN THE SCRIPTUES pg 337 paragraph 1 (italics mine)
These quotes seem to indicate the Russell admits that he got his religious or theological inspiration for his own brand of pyramid quackery not from Freemasonry but from a gentleman named Robert Menzies.
