  i can put up with a lot of things.

  but i avoid people who are "users".

  you know the type....always taking, never giving, always looking to take advantage of someone......and i don't like liars all that much either.

  Jealousy, bitterness, revenge, to name a few. My husband's ex has all three, and a few more besides. Not a very nice person! Oh and she's a liar too.

  first of all, i'm sorry i couldn't figure out how to take off this huge red font!

  well, i got this in an email (from someone who thinks the bible is a loving and beautiful book) and i believe it's a crock.

  why on earth would the wheel below be so very shiney???

  Perhaps the crossing did occur just like the bible's account, after all there are a few snippets of actual facts in the bible. There was probably a shallow part that many people used as a crossing and then the tide came in really quickly and drowned them all.
  
  This happened for real in the UK a couple of years ago when 60 Chinese cockle pickers were drowned in Morecombe bay by a really fast rising tide. Most things can be explained scientifically.

  I like this board because it's full of like minded people, but each and every one has so much to give. I learned a whole bunch of stuff about the jws that I would've never known without jwd.

  An Abortion question, a Christian paradox?

  i have expressed this question to many of my christian friends and heard a mix of answers.

  each time, they come from the central feeling they have about christianity, and few come from the bible's view.

  here is the question, in regards to abortion.. as it is taught in traditional christianity, to kill a life is to mean you are worthy of death yourself.

  it took me about a year before joining and posting.. i can sum up my reason in one word,.

  I lurked for a year or so before posting. My hubby, South African Beef started posting before me but I was afraid that jws that knew me would read my posts and suss out who I was. So at first I didn't put down how old I was or where I was from, and god forbid I never mentioned my real name.
  
  But now I've lost the fear I've disclosed everything and I don't really care who reads it as I have no intentions of ever returning to the cult.

  just wondering if anyone still does not celebrate xmas since leaving jws.....or like me do you think"to hell with it", and join in the festivities.

  if you do celebrate it, do you still have pangs of guilt for celebrating this "pagan" festival???.

  I have been df'd for four and a half years, and this year is the first year I've had a proper tree indoors.
  
  Last year we had cards and pressies but this year we are going the whole hog. I have 12 people coming over on xmas eve for festive fun.
  
  It still feels weird though, I hate the org for that.

  i had my kids last weekend, and they seemed hapy, and content.

  i called a couple of times earlier this week as usual, to see how they are doing, and got the answering machine.

  no mystery there.

  Oh my god, why are ex wives so evil. My husband has one too although she has never pulled a stunt like this.
  
  My advice is to do whatever your lawyer tells you to and hopefully this will be resolved.

  Welcome to the board Winnie. Your story sounds typical of many who post here. Families like yours justify their dispicable behaviour by putting themselves on a spiritual pedestal. It's all BS.
  
  You can chose your friends but not your relatives, it hurts when they treat you so badly but your conscience is clear. If there is a god, he will judge accordingly.
