WHO'S 40 OR NEARLY 40!!!!!

hi everybody and happy new year.

2007 is the year i turn 40, in fact in exactly one month's time to be precise.. i've noted that a lot of people on jwd are a similar age to me.

i think it's because it takes us this long to pluck up the courage to finally leave the borg.. i need to know how turning 40 makes you feel.

I haven't been able to get on jwd for a couple of days so my countdown will now continue:-

25 DAYS TILL MARIE IS 40

23 DAYS TILL PEPPERMINT IS 40

20 DAYS TILL HEMP LOVER IS 40

20 DAYS TILL SIMON IS 40

Also while I'm on the subject of turning 40 are any of the above mentioned people doing anything special on the actual day? Or anyone reading this thread who is already past 40, what did you do? Now we're able to celebrate in style we really should!

I will be in Paris for my 40th. My hubby (South African Beef) is treating me to 2 nights at the George V hotel. It's pure luxury there and I can't wait!!!!

just a little breaking news:.

after several years of a great friendship with diane (previously posted as xena) things have started to really come together recently and i've succumbed to making an honest woman of her (or at least as honest as it's possible to make her.

last night (xmas day) i popped the question and she agreed to marry me (i wonder if she knows what she's let herself in for!!!)..

Miss Field Service?

i was just thinking today about the old days going door to door and street work and i have some very fond memories of those days.

coolhand and i used to go in street work everyday together when we were pioneering.

i used to be my happiest when i was in the preaching work.

No I don't miss field service. But I did used to quite enjoy it when I was pioneering. I am an outgoing person so I didn't get nervous at meeting total strangers. I found it quite challenging, especially when people would open up to you and ask you questions.

I stopped liking it once I had children. I hated having to drag them out of bed and take them on the service in the freezing cold and people thinking I was a bad parent. I used to do the minimum hours I could possibly do then, about 4 per month.
