Perhaps he took advice from the society's publications and "went for a walk" or "read the Bible" when he became aroused.
Heh heh heh.
this is a bizarre thread.
but i was talking to an elder and he was asking me if i've sinned.
but we are all unclean.

i grew up in the borg and can remember feeling a disconnect with the portrayal of witness behavior in the literature and what i actually experienced.
the stories from the yearbook about people wanting to study with witnesses "thirsty for knowledge of the truth" were so different from the responses i got in the fs, where people just seemed annoyed.
the pictures of happy folk and families of all colors looking toward some ray of light, united in the love for jehoober and each other, did not square with what was going on in my congo.
When I was at assemblies and I would hear experiences from young people about how they were witnessing to their teachers or having bible studies with their classmates I would think "how can they not be embarrassed?" I would have died if my classmates knew I was a dub when I was in school. Believe me, I did everything possible to avoid anyone knowing what religion I belonged too.
Of course, at the time, I would feel guily thinking this.
i was thinking about this, as i have a former witness friend who is showing signs of wanting to go back, even though they have expressed over the years a lot of frustration and lack of belief for the faith.
as much as i find their decision to be a mistake, i do understand why.
after all, unlike myself and family, i have never been shunned by the few family members left in and i moved on over the last decade to build new friendships and hobbies.
I wouldn't shame them . .although I might wonder why they would go back.
I live in a country where we have religious freedom so if they go back, it's their right.
i wanted to share with my jwd friends that last night my darling man proposed to me and naturally i said yes!
Congratulations . . .I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!! What a romantic proposal.
Your "how we met" story sounds a little like mine. Todd and I worked together (in different departments) for about 5 years before we actually spoke. It started off with him sending me e-mail jokes and I would send some back . . . then we went to lunch . . . now we are getting married next month!!
ok i know growing up that psychics were a big "no-no" "because they get their information from the demons" but i have to admit that i have had a few readings in the last couple of years... i have consulted a few times with two different psychics.
i am amazed at their accuracy.. for instance, my fiance was looking for a job about a year ago so i consulted with this psychic and she told me he would find a job with a company that has the letter "w" in it and that he would be very successful there.
in fact he did find work with a company with a w in their first name and only after being there a year he got a huge promotion.

My fiance and I broke up last year and she told me that within 90 days we would be back together and engaged again. Exactly 89 days after breaking up he asked me to marry him again.
We wanted to buy a house and I consulted again (in December) and she told me that we would close on the house right around the time of the wedding (we are closing this Friday and our wedding is in June). She also told me that she gets a feeling that there is water nearby where we will buy. Our development has a reference to water in the name. She also told me that within 2 months of looking we will find our house. We started looking in February and made an offer on a house in April.
Does anyone wonder how some of them can be so accurate? Also, even though I have had a few readings I have never seen ghosts, or had demons bother me in anyway at all.
i was reading the story of james caputo on his site disfellowshipped.org when i came to the realization that i received favorable treatment because of who my father is.
i was 17 when i told my father that i didnt want to be a jw anymore because i just didnt really believe in it, i think i said something along the lines of i just don't "feel it" anyways he told me that since i was a minor i would have to keep going to the meetings and that i would have to tell the elders how i felt.
so a few days later 2 elders who had known me since i was 6 years old came over and talked to me, although they made it clear from the outset that it wasn't a jc.
A lot of the elders kids in my hall got away with stuff.
My mom always used to say that the elders had the worst kids.
My dad was never and elder but he still ended up with a bad kid . . .
i couldn't help but notice how one of my jw friends always shows interest in some of the things we are involved with.
my husband is the leader of a boy's club at our church, we have study groups on books of the bible (using the bible only, no guides or other books), we donate gifts to children in our area and abroad, we support wycliff bible translators and personally have friends that are in remote areas of the world translating bibles into languages that are unknown to most of the world, we try to help in any area that we feel led by the lord.
i asked our jw friend why he doesn't approach his congregation or elders and ask if he could start an out-reach for kids.
I enjoy going to the YMCA.
I also help at work every Christmas getting donations for poor families so that the childrend can have presents on Christmas morning.
.
as i was coming out of my home,to go to the supermarket across the road(two actually),so i heard a door knock two houses up, they were two jws knocking on doors.. yesterday,as i came back from town,i saw the same person, making a call on a house that didn't respond last time(their doesn't seem to anyone living in that house).
They probably went to make a return visit on the empty house to kill some time and pad their service hours.
Who can blame them?
9.5 for me.
I just love my life now. My fiance and I just bought a new house (moving next weekend), getting married in June, have a job I enjoy and some really great friends. My fiance just got a great promotion at work and it takes effect June 1st.
I would say it was a 10 except my family doesn't speak to me and won't be there to share my special day with me in June. But thats ok . .

31. is there a dress code?
the society suggests a dress code be set up for the trip because everywhere we stop we give a witness.
I remember being soooo embarrassed wearing my lapel card to the restaurants after the assembly.
