  I thought Oroborus' question was more in the lines of how do we know WHY they are doing it? Because the theory floating around was that the older (30 to 50 year olds) were being canned reassigned due to the recent court ruling that whacked the WTBTS for back pay and such. I did not think he was questioning IF it was happening. But I could be wrong.

  P.S. Is the Bethelite excited the he is being shipped back home under the guise of an assignment by the Tower?

  its odd.

  we dislike/hate the society but ya know...i'm kinda glad i was a witness.. i feel i have benefited from some things.

  confidence to speak infront of a lot of people, voice how i feel and to find answers!

  I agree with you KW. I don't have a problem with the way I was raised. There are good and bad things to life in general. I think being raised a JW has given me a voice that I use to this day. I am not bitter about my life. I am anger as to what has happened to other people and their lives, but not as to mine.

  There is an author who has put out Places to find Peace and Quiet There are a number of city's that have their own version of this book. It often times lists 50 of the most peaceful places in a crazy big city. The book also tries to list quiet and peaceful places that are either free or inexpensive.

  My fav. the sound of waves, while sitting on the sand on a warm summer evening, with my toes digging in the sand.

  kuala lumpur, malaysia - a 33-year-old man in northern malaysia has married a 104-year-old woman, saying mutual respect and friendship had turned to love, a news report said tuesday.. it was muhamad noor che musa's first marriage and his wife's 21st, according to the star newspaper which cited a report in the malay-language harian metro tabloid.. muhamad, an ex-army serviceman said he found peace and a sense of belonging after meeting wook kundor, whom he said he initially sympathized with because she was childless, old and alone, the report said.. "i am not after her money, as she is poor," muhamad reportedly said.

  "before meeting wook, i never stayed in one place for long.".

  he said he hoped to help his new bride to master roman script while she taught him islamic religious knowledge.. the report did not say if any of wook's previous 20 husbands are still alive.. malaysian muslim men are allowed by their religion to take up to four wives at a time, but reports of women who marry more than once are rare.

  Hey Swan, by 104 you would think she would understand how babies are made and would be able to prevent it by now. But did ya notice that this is her 21st marriage. Even though she is 104, I would be afraid if I were him. Either she is riding them hard and they are dying or she is kill'n off.

  i had begun to read schnell's book when we first left - but in the 'fresh out of the borg' mental state, i had found it too caustic.

  now i am reading it and find it quite interesting due to the time frame - in judge rutherford's era.. one of the premises that he states repeatedly in the book, took me by surprise.

  i would be curious if any could confirm/deny the reality of his accusations here.

  AK - I completely understand your interest and need to know more. It is like the mini riot in the States over people thinking a Million Little Pieces was autobiographical only to find out later parts were fictionalized. It is my understanding Schnell has passed away. It would be interesting to find someone who either knew him or was there at the same time and could support his work.

  Did you ever see the shirt from Urban Outfitters that said "Jehovah's Fitness - running and jumping about for god" I got a couple and gave them out as gifts.

  Also, if you go to amazon and do a seach under "jehovah's witness" you come up with a bunch of odd shirts. Not as good as the running and jumping about for god one.

  Let's not give these people too much credit. Look at their belief system. They also abide by the whole DF'ing thing. Look at the things you can get df'd for. Then there is a whole 7 month waiting period. All a little to JWish to me.
