  i've been accumulating a number of old wt publications.

  golden age, rutherford and russel books, even a large number of important district and convention talks.

  it's always difficult to find what i need.

Every now and then I go looking for more. It's always difficult to find what I need. Then I browsed to www.freeminds.org and noticed a number of old publications for sale. = (
  
  Is anyone currently archiving public domain WT literature? If no one has the bandwidth, take a look at what Google is doing at http://books.google.com/books?hl=en
  
  We could ask Google to host these public domain works, and include them in their searchable database.

  Canadian Gas Revolt

  as of june 1st 2007..many canadians will not be purchasing gas from petro-canada.....why?.....to start a price war.....this will drop the price of gas in this country.....a question for my fellow canadians..will you be participating?

  what's the main motivating force behind the average jw?.

  i'd say it's a fear of their own death.

  fear of dying.

  Biggest motivator has got to be Death Anxiety.
  
  An example of this behavior can be found in my experience with family and friends. During my exit my father denied the logical reasoning I used to shoot holes in the JW religion by saying, "Where else will you go?". Also, in reference to my belief that there is no God and therefore all humans alive today will eventually die and be forgotten, "That is so sad". He has to believe there is more to this life. He hasn't come to terms with his own mortality.
  
  JW's do not have a copyright on death anxiety though, it can be seen as *the* driving force behind most religions of the world.

  I was having dinner and good conversation tonight. I was relating some of my past to a close friend. I was describing the field service arrangement and in particular how field service is reported. Then it hit me! If I am ever approached by a JW while they are presenting magazines or other literature, I will respond:
  
  "I would love to have a Bible study with you on one condition, that you are not allowed to report the time you spend preparing, traveling, or studying with me on your monthly field service report."
  
  This will reveal their true motive. If by chance you get a zealous JW who agrees, you can raise a number of thought provoking questions during the first study. I doubt they will come back.
  
  It's a win-win!

  Actually Juni I had an Elder warn me about the classical music I selected for my JW wedding. He said something to the effect of 'Some classical music is demon inspired.' I think I rolled my eyes.
