by free2beme inokay, this is going to step on someones toes, i just know it.. when i stopped going to the meetings, i was talking a person at the time in the 1990's who had been out for a long time.
i thought it was interesting when he mentioned that he still went to meetings and worshipped jehovah, just not with the watchtower.
so i was wondering what he meant, and one weekend while in california with him and a group function for my employer at the time, he invited me to go a meeting.

I would say no. 6, as i believe in a creator, but don`t like to call him god, as that has religous conotations. I I can`t accept evolution as we are too complex, also, us women do have one more rib than men, which does link to the bibles explanation.

Just had to add, the same elder who stole the money, was found in bed with his 8 year old daughter, and he had an erection. The sister who was married to him told me. He did get D/F but wasn`t taken to court for stealing the money, (to keep it quiet of course!), but had to pay so much back a month. Nothing was done about the paedophile accusation. In the same cong. there was an elder who had sexually abused his daughter up til she was 16, and he also taught from home, as he was a teacher! Nothing was done, except take him off as an elder.

In one cong i was in, an elder stole over £30.000 from the box, he was the secretary at the time, well he was handling the accounts. He evidently had a drink problem, but was also taking his american wife all around england, wining and dining her in stately homes! Alright for some! The other thing which he did what i thought was really bad, was go around all the elderly and weak ones borrowing money, saying he needed it for his sick father, who had lukemia, but was spending it on the high life!!!

Do you think it`s hard to have a relationship after you leave?
by dido ini have been out for 4 years now, and find it hard to meet someone who i find is compatible.
one of the reasons being is that they haven`t experienced what it is like to come out of a cult, and i find there is a void there.
does anyone else feel like this?

Even if you cut ties, you have a void/limbo state of `what now`? Where do you meet like minded people? The only place is on these sites, which helps, but is not always enough, we need human contact.

Do you believe that Demons really Exist.
by MARTINLEYSHON inthe reason why i have asked such is question is that i served as a congregation elder for 12 years.
i served as the presiding overseer for 10 years, and as chairman and media spokes-person for a particular region.
during my time within the organisation that being almost 30 years, i have concluded that there is, as far as my own experience is concerned grave doubt in my mind as to the existence of the devil and his demonic hoard.

Thanks all for your advice, i will check out the links, but i`m still not convinced there aren`t any demon`s, as my brother`s got ghosts in his house, and they cause all sorts of probs., door slamming, playing drums, piano etc., so will keep an open mind on that.

Did anyone experience that feeling at the end of assemblies, or C/O visits?
by dido ini`m new on here so don`t know if this subject has been covered, but i was wondering if anyone else experienced that overwhelming feeling at the end of assemblies, or when the c/o visited and gave his talk, there was a different feeling in the air, and i always thought it was `jehovah`s spirit`.
now i`m out and have learnt a lot about the borg, and know all their dastardly deeds, i can`t understand what that feeling was.
it can`t have been his spirit, as i don`t believe now that the borg is the `truth`.

BizzyBee, what i am saying is that despite not being very happy in the `truth` i personally had this feeling, but it doesn`t necessarily mean that it was because i was among a crowd of people, i felt it on my own, not just because there was a gush of emotion from everyone else.

BizzyBee have you ever heard the saying `alone but in a crowd`? Maybe not feeling that i really belonged there could be more explanatory.
