I went to Texas with a friend who was born there, but was living in England, and we stayed with jw`s she knew. The sis where we staying was a pioneer, and was out by 7 in the morning, and made me get up one morning to go out with her! We were on territory where there were drive by shootings, and gangs, but they assured me we would be safe, as they left the jw`s alone! I also went to meetings at a few k halls in the area, but quite enjoyed it as met new people and they were very hospitable to us, and kept saying how they loved my quaint accent! I found out later that the sis where we stayed didn`t think i was very spiritual, as i didn`t want to go out on service any other times! When she visited England, she didn`t even go to the meetings!

by Afrancis ini would like to know if anyone has started a named and shamed site.
its that i know so much bad stuff thats happened in so many congregations involving elders, ministerial servants and others.
it would be great if someone could put them up ?

by jason bourne inperhaps as a jw you experienced events in the ministry or elsewhere that convinced you that jehovah through the angels was directing you to people..or situations.....??.
like for instance, to the house of a suicidal man or to a person that was praying for someone to help them spiritually.... do you have any opinions about this?
i'm just curious...... .

I know what you mean, i wondered about that too,like `evidence of god`s spirit` i thought that i felt it thro prayer and when i answered up, i got a pumping sensation, and was convinced it was his spirit giving me courage.

I thought that the angels were directed to me, as i was looking for answers when the witnesses called on me, and i know of a few instances where i thought it was angels.Now i`m out and don`t believe that it is god`s org., i wonder if it was just coincidence that they called on me, i can`t believe it was directed by god, after learning so much about the org. and all the bad stuff that goes on in it.

Is becoming a witness the right thing for me

i am a "cradle" catholic and have been very involved with the church.
i started to become disillusioned several months back with all of the tradition, habits, and teachings of the church--which i began to seriously doubt.

It did say that she was 10 years old, he was still an adulterer, so would god use a man like that to found a `true religion`? Someone who was involved with pyramids and the occult?

One of the reasons i would say NO is that they allow paedophiles to remain in the congregations, i know of several in different congregations that i attented. That is the reason why i will never go back, so one piece of advice i can give you is, study the history of the JW`s before you study the bible with them, you will be shocked to find out that the founder Russell himself was a paedophile, he molested a 10 year old girl.
