doinmypart- your wife should stay with you even if you don`t believe any longer. What is the difference between any other married couple with one believer? they still have to stay. I stuck it out for 25 years with an unbelieving husband who was opposed, so i don`t see why she shouldn`t stay with you. If she practices what they teach, she won`t be allowed to leave, will she? and i`m sure that you won`t oppose her, you will probably find it hard with her practising it, but if you are kind and loving, why should she go?

Good news: No longer an elder; Bad news: Disappointed wife
by doinmypart inmy wife & i have a good relationship except when it comes to things dealing with the wts.
over the past few years we've both made concessions, and i even made some headway in getting her to think about some things.
but from time-to-time we would end up arguing about something wts-related and there would be days of tension between us.. well, a few weeks ago we were having a casual conversation about wildlife in our area, she mentioned something about jehovah ruining those who ruin the earth.

OTWO- his book was one of the things that really helped me to overcome my feelings of guilt, and move on, as i was d/f so still believed the hype, so i am grateful to him for that, and i`m sure he has helped a lot of people wwith his book, so i thank him for that. Just one last thought, i think it was over 20 years that he had doubts, but need to check, that`s a long time to have them tho`, isn`t it?

OTWO- he was only going to live the life style that millions of other jw`s had to, the way of life they told us was best, no material possesions, seek the kingdom etc., so shame he couldn`t live in his luxury pad and jet about, life`s a bitch!

OTWO- he was a lot younger when he first had doubts, can`t remember exactly, as it is a while since i read his book, but he had so much inside info, you would think that he would have wanted to get out. I`m sure a lot of his friends and co- bethelites would have followed him.The other thing is, he did get work for a bro` who was d/f, but he still clung on until they d/f him, so he did have an income. Don`t mean to sound harsh, but that`s what i think.

I think they are all responsible, but there is one thing i can`t understand about Ray Franz, is that if he had so many doubts for all those years, why didn`t he get out sooner, and expose them, he could have saved a lot of lives by doing that, instead he held on until they d/f him, otherwise he might still be part of it now.

Miracles if you believe
by Ade inheres a little something i was wondering about and would like your opinions, .
miracles, can they occur , for instance you have cancer and pray to god and the cancer is gone etc.
i dont believe any man can heal you ( faith healers ), for i believe only god or jesus can heal you through your faith.

I don`t believe in them, things are usually coincidences, but some people want to believe that they are miracles.

Has anyone appealed a D/f, and what was the outcome?
by dido ini appealed against my d/f because i wanted to expose the elder that d/f me, the chairman.
i thought it was so hypocritical as he had been calling at my house alone (yes alone) making sexual innuendos, i never invited him in, but couldn`t believe the things he said to me.
then when i was summoned to the j/c, him, his step father, and his side kick little elder friend were siiting in judgement of me.

Then when i was summoned to the j/c, him, his step father, and his side kick little elder friend were siiting in judgement of me. I was tricked into going as they assured me that i would not be d/f, but because i didn`t say the right thing, they decided to d/f me. They have done me the biggest favour, as i am so much better off now, and enjoying life more. I decided to appeal as it was so hypocritical of him to sit in judgement of me, so 3 elders were sent from bethel. After telling them about this pervy elder, they said i needed 2 witnesses to prove he came to my house. He lied saying he brought his little daughter with him. I felt a bit better that i was able to let them know at bethel, as i wrote a long letter to them as well with all the details. Needless to say i remained d/f as i hadn`t changed the error of my wicked ways, yawn.

If you were disfellowshipped would you become an active opposer?
by yesidid inon auld soul's thread: statistical effect of disassociating the inactive; http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/121008/1.ashx.
mary made an interesting comment, she said:.
i can tell you right now, that if they do try and enforce shunning of inactive ones, i will go from being a passive ex-witness to a very aggressive ex-witness and will make sure that the media and everyone in the area i live, know what the witnesses are doing.

I was d/f 5 years ago, and suffered in silence for 4 of those, as hadn`t had any contact with any ex`s and hadn`t been on the net. Since a year ago i have found out so much info about the jw cult that i cannot keep quiet, like when you first get `the truth` you go around telling everyone, (what was that about?), well, i feel the same way since i found out the truth about the `truth`, i feel more reponsibility to help others to know what they could get into, how it could damage their lives. If everyone agreed on a campaign on here, i would get involved. A few years ago, an ex elder bro` in law of mine actually did do a protest outside London MillHill bethel, he had a banner saying about the unborn children that were going to be destroyed at Armagheddon, he felt strongly about it, and so was d/f. He was a professor of mathematics at Reading University, and was responsible for my getting involved in the org., but i forgave him, as he thought he was doing good at the time.
