Debt and the danger of comparisons
by Simon indo you ever look at other people and think "blimey, they are doing well ... new house ... new car ... why am i not getting ahead like that?".
you will probably find out that the car is hp or bought with a re-mortgage of a re-mortgage which is interest only.
no money is going to pay off capital and they don't have any savings and are not making any provision for their pension (other than imagining that the house they are *not* paying off will somehow suffice).

Agree - there is a tendency to remortgage / refinance as property values increase. So a $350,000 mortgage becomes a $450,000 mortgage based on the increased value of the property - some mortgaes here are 10% of market value. This usually finances a new 4WD / SUV for the wife and a fancy car for the husband.
It is a real problem as small upward changes in interst rates can and do wipe people out as they can not afford to live.

Laptop Advice

i know what i need primarily in terms of system specs so i am more interested in feedback regarding brands.
if you have a laptop i would be interested to know the brand, whether you bought it new or used, how long the warranty was, if you had any issues with it during or after the warranty (and whether these resulted in you having to take it in or send it away for repairs), if you would buy it again, if you recommend the brand on the whole.. i am currently leaning towards toshiba having met a few people that had bad experiences with dell.

My new pink scarf

Hello City Girl & welcome!!
I am not a witness - my wife is studying with them and has had a number (!) of concerted attempts using all sorts of ploys & tactics to get me to join in - this has been going on for the past 5 years.
My response? No way in the world would I consider joining the JWs after having read & researched enough to sate my curiousity. PLEASE read, ask questions (especially in this forum) and above all do not be duped into thinking that you can be a ceremonial JW. They do not exist.
Beware also the "love bombing" that a potential recruit is subjected to: Believe me, I know but I am sufficiently cynical to se past that.
Hope you find what you are looking for here - I certainly have.

everything is working so far except the sound.
(still working on that part.. so i`m sitting here and get the bright idea to take a screen shot just to see if it would capture the video.

A really useful piece of freeware is "Hardcopy" at http://www.hardcopy.de although I do have a licenced copy.
You can do many things with this - including capture small sections of the screen. Also supports a large number of graphics formats.
Many be of use - better than <clrl> Print Scrn
