I'm a lumberjack and I'm OK
I sleep all night and I work all day.
Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping and have buttered scones for tea
Mounties:
He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shopping and has buttered scones for tea.
Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I skip and jump
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars.
Mounties:
He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing and hangs around in bars?!
Chorus:
He's a lumberjack and he's OK
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I wear high heels
Suspenders and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear Papa!!
Mounties:
I cut down trees, I wear high heels?!
Suspenders...and a bra?!...
Just the Lumberjack:
I wish I'd been a girlie, just like my dear Papa!!

- ARTHUR:
- The Lady of the Lake,...
- [angels sing]
- ...her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite, held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water signifying by Divine Providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.
- [singing stops]
- That is why I am your king!
- DENNIS:
- Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.
- ARTHUR:
- Be quiet!
- DENNIS:
- Well, but you can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!
- ARTHUR:
- Shut up!
- DENNIS:
- I mean, if I went 'round saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!
- ARTHUR:
- Shut up, will you? Shut up!
- DENNIS:
- Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system.
- ARTHUR:
- Shut up!
- DENNIS:
- Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being repressed!
- ARTHUR:
- Bloody peasant!
- DENNIS:
- Oh, what a give-away. Did you hear that? Did you hear that, eh? That's what I'm on about. Did you see him repressing me? You saw it, didn't you?

Schwartzwalder Kirschtorte requires correct ingredients and skill to live up to its promise.
Key ingredients include: Morello Cherries (ie sour), superior chocolate (I prefer Lindt for this purpose), fresh cream and the best of other ingredients.
The recipe should NOT be Anglicised, Americanised, etc but must be a traditional German recipe prepared from fresh, not preprepared ingredients.
Dry Sponge cake!!!! S acrilege!
The desired outcome can only be achieved by adherence to tradition!

CoCo,
Perhaps you are suffering something akin to the flashback that one can have of a traumatic event in one's life.
This film depicts the process of indoctrination, including the pressures applied, that all members of the WTS (and their families) are subjected to. To the potential recruit this appears to be a most normal and logical thing to do (at the time) and it is not until there is some personal revelation that the spell is broken. The revealing process can be different for different people, but the outcome appears to be the same: a realisation that one has been subjected to lies, deciet and deception and a great sense of personal disbelief.
In many ways, the practices of the WTS are no different from other organisations - theocratic jargon, "love bombing", exclusivity, "truth" and the "only way to salvation/paradise" are but a few of the deceits commonly espoused by these groups.
I am an outsider looking in (my wife became entangled in this web of deceit a few years ago) but I can understand your reaction upon seeing this process so clearly depicted.
With kind regards,

Just want to introduce myself
by cjones inhi everyone, i have been lurking for a very long time and have been pretty much blown away and sickened by what i have learned on this discussion forum (this is actually the first forum i had ever visted).
i am married to man who was not a jw when i met him (although he was raised as one from his early teens but left when he was in his 20's, oh and that was when he started attending college), to make a long story short we met, fell in love, got married, had a few children and then 20 yrs later he started attending the "meetings" or better yet "the indoctrination sessions" again, which btw he did not tell me that that was what he was doing!!
shortly thereafter i began noticing changes in his personality, and it wasn't for the better.

Hi Jonesy,
I am so sorry to see the problems that you are going through, but I am so glad to see that you have not been fooled by the "smoke and mirrors" of the WTS: it is so important to be true to yourself and not to be enveloped by the anits of the congregation. There are a few "unbeliveing mates" or UBM's on JWD (as you have no doubt seen) who can at least empathise with your predicament.
I almost think of myself as a "disbelieving mate" as I can't believe that my wife got mixed up with this lot!

Fundamentalism and cultism are issues that are present in most (all?) religions and pseudo-religions.
It is good to see the perspective being presented from a "christian" perspective - perhaps giving some insight into the perils of the mindset of fundamentalism and cultism.
Unfortunately most are unaware of the guile and deception practiced by the promoters of this "religious" extremism.
