just curios about your thoughts on the subject.. i guess i've been thinking of this lately because of a lot of the brothers and sisters in my area.

seem to be getting far up in years and it's hard to watch them go through all the pain they're .

Thank you all for your response. My thinking is in agreement with all of you. I like what you said AlltimeJeff " Its not a huge leap to the next step".
There was this sister a few months back that sadly was diagnosed with cancer and she was probably I would guess around late 50's and she desided
to refuse kemo. I thought that was interesting that she refused to do anything about it. She passed away in a very short amount of time. But she made her own decision and I think we all have that right.

i'm trying to compare some statistics and figures on this to share later in the thread to see if more long-time witnesses are exiting- or are newer witnesses exiting after a shorter period of time.

and - are more people exiting in the last 10 to 15 years than before.

so your answers would be helpful in looking into this .

I think number 5 is a great point I just need to research where it is in the bible where it talks about these things because I know they won't take my word for it .
5. The Bible speaks poorly of other things that are allowable. Wearing make up, owning dogs, giving wedding gifts, haircuts and drinking are all associated in the Bible with tragic acts. Yet, none of these things are considered unacceptable for Christians. Why would birthdays not be held to the same standard?

And it got me thinking about God's claim to being merciful.
Because from what I see is that dying of cancer or some other disease is not very merciful.

thinking back, there were a few things i was told then, that now seem rather odd and petty.

i was wondering if these thing are common in the wts or was it just that my girlfriend at the time was a pioneer, and her father was an elder.

(so perhap a bit more "enthusiastic" than others).

One that all ways made me uncomfortable was when you where with your worldly family eating dinner or at a worldly wedding or function like that and someone would give a toast to something and everybody raised there glass to agree to what ever was said......... except for you. You didn't because it was WRONG! and three or four glass come your way anticipating a touching of glass with you but NO! you just sit there looking stupid

Mill Hill Disfellowshippings

a few months ago there was a thread about a couple of elders at the mill hill bethel being disfellowshipped because they disagreed with some wt doctrine (i can't recall exactly what it was) and that several other betheliteswere under 'investigation'.

i haven't heard anything since, does anyone know anything more about this?.

It is so weird that I read this post of yours at Page 5, about what JW's think of when thinking of Jehovah.
I was just thinking of this last night as I was watching this video on the haiti disaster by this, I'm guessing "Brother" that every time I read the
comments from the sister and brothers they alway's mention " Jehovah this and Jehovah that" as if like you say the word has some magical power
or something just like a Idol would have. And it's not just this video I watched. Go check out different forums for JW'S. It is all the same.
They almost never mention Jesus. It's like tunnel vision.
The human mind is a trip.

This has been going on for thousands of years. Same old story different time period.
Which leads me to this thought , If God is waiting for all possible scenarios to play out then
were going to be seeing this type of cruelty for a long time because one scenario that still needs to be played out
is NO GOVERNMENT AT ALL.
