  Anyone else have JW Business Cards?

  my cong has these business cards on the lit desk for maybe 2 months now, is this just something that they have done locally or is this a org wide thing?

  .

  there are two different types we have, this is the front and back of one of them..

  Some have carried calling cards in the past, at least in the U.S. The one pictured is different. We used to make our own.

  Yes, the Watchtower that was studied recently (for April 26, 2015) was similar where they seem to be praising the Roman Empire because of it's enforcement of "peace" throughout many lands which made it possible for early Christians to preach the good news. During that time, both Jews and Christians met their deaths during the "Pax Romana."

  Can they disfellowship my father?

  when the elders visited us last week, they also discussed my father.

  my mother called them about him.

  Yes, they can disfellowship him if they want to. If I was in a situation like that, I would protect by mom by getting her away from him if at all possible.

  I'm an active Witness. Still in because of lots of family members and certain other obligations (my job for one).

  Born in the Organization during the "Rutherford era". An "old timer" just going through the motions.

  @James Mixon, I saw an Awake magazine in public restroom once. Was sitting displayed atop the paper towel dispenser.
  

  Once I was walking through a mall and saw where several magazines were sitting on a table within a Christmas display.

  We have always been told not to indiscriminately distribute literature. Some people will do anything to raise the numbers on their monthly fs report, even if it means cheating.

  Witnesses Preach to Dog

  "in el salvador, one man tied his vicious dog in front of the door whenever he saw jehovahs witnesses nearby.

  the man would wait for the witnesses to move on, and then he would bring the dog back into the house.

  the brothers were never able to speak to the man.

  Everything is watered down now. All the talk about types/anti-types is lost on the average JW. I would venture to say the younger generations are completely clueless about the concept in general. Most of the younger generations now are caught up with selfies on Instagram, wearing/selling those JW.org lapel pins and adoring (a.k.a. "doing obedience to") the new New World Translation (a.k.a. "Silver Sword").
